This is a very good book to revise from which contains the material needed to cover for the FPC1 exam. The answers, as stated, may be wrong at times, but this is the problem with anything; even official exam mark schemes can be wrong at times.

Speaking on behalf of the previous commenter when he said "The guys who wrote this book expect in some ways for the reader to know Core 1 and Core 2 maths and this is the book that I think follows on from that."

It is important to note that the exam board (AQA) expects you to know Core 1 and Core 2 modules before sitting FPC1, so this is why C1 and C2 imformation is ommissed from this FPC1 book (as you should already know it).

Overall, a very good book.

Despite the miss-print on page 194, exercise 6C (Matrix transformations) I found the content very easy to follow and compared with other such books e.g. Mei's FP1 book, which had mistakes in there as well, it was much easier to follow.

Overall, it's a generous 5/5 only because it got me the grade I was aiming for and for the fact that it was easy to understand concepts as i prefer to understand where formulae and concepts derive from (explained it clearer than other books that follow a simlar scheme in my opinion).

Got me through AS Further Maths but sometimes it was more of a hindrance then an aid. There are lots of mistakes with the answers it gives in the back so if you get something different to what the book says, you're probably not the one in the wrong. We also found plenty of typo's and other errors. Otherwise it gives adequate explanations of how to tackle problems, but it's no substitute for a good teacher.

Cheers,
Jimmy
