4.0 out of 5 stars A Neat Book 25 April 2010

This book does exactly what it says, It gives you the information to pass the ECDL advanced exam No less - No more. The jurys out on the driving lessons format which is pretty pointless but doesn't exactly do any harm either. All in all the book is worth the money if you want to improve your knowledge of Access or wish to pass the exam.

This book could teach you a lot about using Access's interface, but does not give much insight into databases. If you just want to know what the buttons do and do not need to design databases then this is okay. Another book I had from a Pitman advanced Access course was far superior and gave much more practice in designing databases and the consequences of design decisions. I reread the Pitman book after reading this and almost none of its content was covered by this book. I got a high score after using the Excel book in this series (although I used other sources, too) so I thought this book would be better than this. Its content is clear and the numerous practice sections will help you gain some experience, but if you want to get a high score or want to be a Database Administrator or Designer you will need more than this.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great Buy! 12 Dec 2011
The book is simple and straightforward, therefore easy to follow and good for all levels of users. Great that you can download some free questions from a given website for practice. Would definitely recommend it. Only downfall as already stated is that it is not spiral bound.
