I have been a part-time massage therapist for over 20 years and for the last three years have done almost exclusively sports treatment work.
I bought this because I thought it was an update to Mel Cash's previous book "Sport & Remedial Massage therapy" which was my text book when I first learned. However this is much more. In particular the sections on both movement and function are completely different and really opened my eyes. The rest of the book is a practical hands-on guide to all the major treatment methods, simply explained.
If you want to know whan massage techniques you use for each condition, this is not the book for you, but if you want a book that will help improve your understanding of the principles and techniques then I have never seen one anywhere near as good as this. Highly recommended.

Having recently qualified as a sports massage therapist I bought this book hoping it would help me brush up on a few areas where I was struggling.
I wasn't disappointed in particular I found the chapters on posture and movement very helpful.
The chapters that are then devoted to areas such as myofascial release and positional release are also really useful.
My only very small problem with the book is that there are a lot of illustrations which I know for most readers is a big plus but personally I respond better to more descriptive writing.
Having said that, the big plus for the book is its readability, during my course I found many text books hard going and difficult to understand. this is excellently and simply written while still being accurate and informative.

A great addition to the bookshelf for students and therapists alike.

The book arrived in perfect condition, excellent service and absolutely amazing content! There is no other book that goes into the different massage techniques in such detail but still maintain it at an enjoyable level that even those just starting out on their massage career can understand. You do not need any other book (apart from an anatomy chart).
