Monsters on Demand 1 July 2008
Format:Hardcover
In late 1982, Gary Gygax published this second volume of the Monster Manual. While the first monster manual concentrated on the usual orthodox creatures which have become AD&D canon, the second volume extended this, especially encorporating many other-planar beings, demons, devils, real-world wild animals, dinosaurs, and other fantastic creations. All in alphabetical order for ease of finding.

To give a sample - here are some examples of the monsters herein.

REAL WORLD ANIMALS - falcon / hawk, eagle, cat, cheetah, "minimals" - great resource
DEVILS - Glasya, Belial, and the popular bearded devil.
DEMONS - Graz-zt, Baphomet
DINOSAURS - mainly minor dinosaurs not covered in MM1, including Kentrosaurus (small stegosaurus) - not really essential for most campaigns
OTHER FANTASTIC CREATIONS - bookworm, luck eater, cat lord, mud-man

Still an Essential Product 7 July 2000
By JH - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Hardcover
This book has a lot of creatures that can be found no where else as well as a good look at demons and devils. While all the creatures in the first monster manual can be found in the newer versions this book is truely unique. If you ever get a chance to buy one, do so even if you already have the new monster manual.

The best book for demons, devils, and interesting creatures 2 May 2000
By Kent David Kelly - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Hardcover
Here's the most valuable compendium of advanced and extra-planar monsters in existence for AD&D. Gary Gygax's last major contribution to the menagerie includes many old favorites, most of which were expurgated or "toned down" in the later, politically correct version of the game. You get dozens upon dozens of demons, devils, undead, demodands, daemons, dragons, giants, and more; if it's evil, and fun to kill, it's here! Lots of classic illustrations, too, far superior to the later Monstrous Manual (bleah!). Find out why it's an eternal DM favorite!

Advanced Dungeons and Dragons Monster Manual II 10 Aug 2008
By Daniel E. Barfield - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Hardcover|Amazon Verified Purchase
It's been many years since I had played Dungeons and Dragons, so when I started playing again with my son using the 3.5v set of rules our discussions turned to how it used to be. I just had to get this when I found it on Amazon.com. Not only nostalgic for me, but it's still a great resource for our games. We love it!
