I managed to grab this book while it was out for free and boy am I glad I did!
It is full of great ideas on how to get the book "out there". As the author says, the objective should not be to get published, but to get read and this book is certainly full of ideas on how to do just that.
I've read quite a few books on selling products (including books) through the internet and this one certainly stands out. The message is not, "get rich quick" but, if you want your book to be read, you need to put the work in. It has some "new" marketing technquies, such as placing your book on the internet next to other books your potential readers might be looking for by title; it has some more traditional advice, like the need to have a proper press pack - and this is explained very neatly, as well as how you can exploit all the work that will go into the press pack in other ways.
The book has some typos near the end but the style is really engaging and the book has plenty of inspiring case studies. Time certainly flew while reading it and I have recommended the book to other friends who needed help marketing their book but also who just needed to drive traffic to their website. The tips in this book go beyond book marketing.
I can't say what the effect of the book will be on my book sales - I haven't had a chance to put them all into practice yet, I was just grateful for the very useful freebie and wanted to say thanks to the author by recommending the book.
