This book provides an invaluable guide to approaching the common A&E presentations. Its format is particularly well suited to the A&E environmental, where time is frequently of the essence. It is a book that all medical students and junior doctors approaching their A&E rotations should strongly consider purchasing.

Nice and concise, with enough information to help you along your first A&E rotation but without too much detail to bore or overwhelm. I wish I had known about this before my first A&E job. If you are apprehensive about your upcoming A&E job as a junior doctor and want something light to read that will actually be useful, this is it.

Am currently using this book as part of my own rotation in A&E, and have found it very useful. The condensation of key topics into two page summaries means that you can see all the important facts easily and quickly, in a concise format. The topics are centred around symptoms, eg "shortness of breath" rather than "pneumonia", which is much more helpful in an A&E scenario. Highly recommended.
