Adrian Flynn was born in the U.K. in 1956. He studied Philosophy and Psychology at Newcastle University before rapidly moving through a succession of jobs, including a spell as a beer-barrel cleaner, a teacher and time spent as a loft insulator. Since the early 1990's, he has written a wide range of plays for young people, including the award-winning 'Burning Everest'. In recent years, he has also been a regular scriptwriter for The Archers on Radio 4.
