I thoroughly enjoyed the premise and ideas taken and twisted in this book, into a weird and wonderful tale. Christy is an 18 year old spy, from the Division, sent on her first real undercover operation. Groups of thrill-seeking teenagers have been taken from all over the country and the Division has been able to locate the next town to be targeted. However when she gets to the school, she soon realises that there are 2 different groups that match the profile. She needs to choose the right group before the time is up, but does she go with the ones that the Division sent her for, or the other group that hides in the shadows? And what will be the consequences of her choice, where will she end up? and what will she be expected to do...

I really enjoyed the whole book and finished it easily in one sitting. I like Christy as a character and that always makes the book more enjoyable to read, plus the whole spy thing and undercover is definitely alot of fun to read! I liked that you could still see Christy's reaction to what her Misha character should do and the thought process behind the entire act. I really enjoyed reading about some of the supporting characters as well and the reasons behind the life they lead. Christy is slightly too trusting of the other characters, especially as she is a spy and putting on an act. However because it is her first mission i assume this will improve with age. I really enjoyed the second half of the book, probably more than the first, however don't really want to say too much to spoil anything. But if you read the first (amazing) half of the story, then you've got even better things to come! I've only just realised that Cindy's Watched series seems to take place before this book and shows Christy getting involved with Division and will definitely be having a look at the series!

I would highly recommend this book for fans of the spy/secret agent/undercover genre's and would love to hear anyone else's opinion on the book!

HASH(0x90ddf4bc) out of 5 stars So suspenseful--I was on the edge of my seat! 9 Dec. 2014
By Kit-Kat75 - Published on Amazon.com

I really enjoyed the Watched series and was excited to see a continuation of Christy's story. You really don't have to read the previous story to enjoy this one, but it does help to understand how she became a spy.
One thing that I really discovered while reading this book is that I do not have what it takes to become a spy. Wow--I really felt some adrenaline rush and anxiety with this book and was totally on the edge of my seat! Christy is now taking on a character who is completely opposite of herself, in order to put herself in the midst of a group who is targeted to be kidnapped. There are two possible groups and she must guess right so that she can put herself in a position to catch this madman.

I thought the feelings and characters were well-done in a way that really drew the reader in. It was easy to feel the fear, anxiety, thrill, anger, etc. I was horrified at some of the events that occurred and couldn't imagine how things could possibly end well. Christy handled things very well, for the most part. I loved it when she seemed human though--when she let her true feelings show and when she was herself instead of trying to be someone else, like she had to. Christy isn't the ideal spy, by any means. When she lets her guard down, she makes mistakes--sometimes costly mistakes, yet she's able to rally herself together and try to patch things up.

I think it would be really easy to lose your real identity when you're a spy. Taking on so many different personalities would be hard. I hope to see Christy hang on to herself as this series continues.

The madman was the perfect bad guy. He was so creepy, evil, and crazy. I couldn't believe what he got away with. The way the relationships were woven together was pretty crazy, too.

All in all, this is a very suspenseful, creative series.

Content: no language; moderate violence (kidnapping, daredevil acts, murders, blood, beatings, abuse)--not overly graphic, but definitely PG-13 worthy (not for a younger reader); mild romance (some kissing).

HASH(0x923280cc) out of 5 stars Adrenaline Rush 7 Dec. 2014
By Melanie - Published on Amazon.com

I loved the Watched series and am reviewing the second book in this series tomorrow, so I was excited to see this book come up for review so I could read it first. I liked how the Watched series ended and the boy she wound up with so I was a little sad to see he's no longer in the picture. It makes sense with her crazy lifestyle and it's clear that she's moving on to a new love interest, but it still made me sad. You don't need to read the Watched series first, but if you want background on Christy and why she's a spy, where her family is, prior love interests, how she meets Jeremy, etc., you will want to read those books prior to starting this series.

This book held my attention from the beginning. Christy is a spy and needs to get kidnapped so they can stop a madman. There are two groups she's looking at. I thought the first one was crazy, but the second group was even crazier. She manages to get kidnapped and the story really picks up at that point. She's put into a bizarre situation, which is quite disturbing at times. And the circus--what an imagination!

Having followed Christy before and seeing mistakes she made, I didn't expect her to be a perfect spy and she wasn't, but she still learns quickly and is able to figure things out. She lets her feelings get in the way a little more than she should, but again, she's young and learning. I like that she's in intense situations but she's had training and has a team that is helping her.

Jeremy is her handler and they're both older now so she's starting to feel differently towards him than she used to. This took time for me to adjust to since I always thought there was a huge age difference between them and didn't suspect this would happen during Watched. I love Jeremy, though, so I'm interested to see where their relationship will head in the future.

I certainly felt an adrenaline rush while reading this book. There were parts where I couldn't breathe because I was so worried about what would happen next. This was different than what I was expecting and there were lots of twists and turns which kept it interesting. I really enjoyed it and look forward to reading more about Christy!

I received a copy of this book to review. My opinion is 100% my own.

Getting down to business, Adrenaline Rush is exactly what the title says. From the first sentence I was hooked and couldn't seem to put it down. Getting to "watch" the events that Christy/Misha went through was so emotionally compelling I give huge props to Hogan. I find most authors can't carry a wide range of emotions in their books. They seem to be giving you something new and then BAM! back to where you always were. I felt all of the character's emotions, and it was quite a wide variety. I haven't read a book that compelling in a long time and I enjoyed the different, perilous feel of the book. It didn't feel forced or overworked, but had a nice flow throughout. But enough of my feelings! Get this book and read it for yourself! It has spies, adventurous teens, and a crazed madman! Highly recommended for all looking for a fresh read!

HASH(0x90c124ec) out of 5 stars If you enjoy a good mystery/thriller... 1 Jan. 2015
By Kathy Habel - Published on Amazon.com

This is a very well written story. Cindy is a great writer and the fact that I stuck with this book is proof of that. My issue with this book had nothing to do with the writing. I had a hard time relating to some of the characters and story line. This is a group of adrenaline junkies who are kidnapped by a crazy man. I didn't love reading about some of the things that happened and skimmed several chapters. Once I was half way in I was hooked and really enjoyed it but the first half of this story was tough for me to get through.

While I do enjoy a good mystery/thriller I admit this isn't my favorite genre. Those who do love a good thriller will likely enjoy this story. As soon as I finished this book I did start the next one in the series Hotwire. I'm enjoying it much more.

HASH(0x90c12bdc) out of 5 stars What the... Wow! 24 Oct. 2014

What in the world did I just read?! It's sick and grotesque and vile... and AMAZING! A cross between 007 and Saw. I love teenage spy novels and figured this was going to be like the previous ones I've read. No, not at all. This was a grownup version of those teen spy books.

Excellent suspense/thriller mystery! I could not figure out who the recruiter was. In the beginning I had an idea and thought this book would be completely predictable, but one third of the way in I was confused and kept pointing fingers and then changing my mind.

This book was full of twists and turns and it was brilliantly written. It did take me a bit to get into the story, but when I finally got past the first few chapters I was hooked. The story really progressed realistically and it stayed suspenseful throughout. I can't wait to pick up the next book and see where these characters go.
