I wish I could give a full review to this software, but no matter how I try, it would seem that this software will not play nice with my machine (running Windows Vista on a Dell desktop 2.6 Ghz quad-core with 4 Gig of Ram). While the Organizer portion of it seems to work fine, and imported all my pictures and videos without problem (took 30 minutes, but I do have over 300 video clips to import), the video editor simply would not work. Opening a file from the Organizer to edit should have, per its on-screen popup, placed the clip at the end of the timeline, but no matter what project options I set (for various modes of AVCHD, HD, etc), nothing ever showed up in the editor, and all editor functions remained grayed out (including the Import function). Playing a particular clip worked ok for video, but the audio channel remained silent.
In addition, I had several cases of the program crashing completely, and when I tried to create an Adobe ID so I could access on-line help, the Create button remained stubbornly inactive, even though I was sure I had all fields filled out appropriately. Also an annoyance was that the Adobe ID creation screen asked for my birth date. What possible relevance or need is there for Adobe to have this information?
I would really like to see what this software can really do; looking over the listed functions in the various screens makes it look like this could be a very good and powerful package for the price, but as it stands, I'll chalk this one up as "doesn't work, not worth any more of my time trying to make it work".
