Firstly, this is NOT that easy to use software, you can't open it up and learn as you go along, the way I learned to use it (and I'm not in the very-good class yet) was to have a quiet day, an empty house is best, and go through the tutorial, once you have grasped the principle your learning and enjoyment curve shoots up.
If you enjoy your digital photography and want to take it to the next level then you really do need Adobe Elements, if you take digital video then Elements Premier is the one for you, I am more photographic than video oriented 90%/10% but on price it would be silly not to have both.
Apart from touching up individual photos, which can be taken to an almost infinite level, you can then change a picture into a work of art in an indefinable number of ways, also, some of the basic products you can produce , such as slide shows and video production are just breathtaking, in short, for a keen amateur, once you have grasped that all too important principle of layers in a picture the only limit is your own imagination.
