Product Description

Review

'... this is an easy to follow and highly informative digital imaging handbook specifically designed for users of Adobe's latest photo editing software, Photoshop Elements. Andrews' style suits entry level users as it is beautifully and well-illustrated with quality photography and non-threatening text.'
Better Digital

'Although I am not a complete beginner in photo manipulation I am new to Elements. I chose this book to start my exploration of Elements and I am very glad that I did. It explained things very simply and I had no difficulty getting to grips with Elements at all. I still have a lot to learn, but that aside I would heartily recommend this book to anyone interested in digital photography.'
Amazon.co.uk reader

'Philip Andrews is a skilled and enthusiastic teacher, his book is clearly illustrated throughout and is refreshingly direct and easy to understand.'
Martin Evening

'This is a great book for Photoshop beginners. The language is very clear and the practice exercises give the reader the opportunity to actually use the tools as they move along. It also gives excellent descriptions (and identification) of all the available tools in Photoshop. I have several books on this subject, but none is as clear as this one. It has made all the difference as I am learning how to use the software. It is a MUST for beginners!'
Amazon.com reader

'Philip Andrews has a rare gift for being perfectly clear... I have gone through the entire book and am now comfortable in the world of Adobe Photoshop Elements.'
Amazon.com reader

'This book shows you and tells you exactly what you need to know and want to know so you can get working with photographs with the feeling that you know what you are doing.'
Amazon.com reader

'[Philip Andrew's] Adobe Photoshop Elements title is an excellent read, many colourful photographic examples and true to life screenshots replicate working within the software. Beginner or advanced the book is great value for money and I for one highly recommend it.'
Amazon.co.uk reader

'This book should be in everyone's library. I purchased A Visual Introduction to Digital Imaging, BEFORE purchasing Elements. I wasn't sure if Elements was easy enough for me. The book is so clear and understanding. The quality of the pages are also great. Not some inexpensive paper. I also like the online tutorials. I feel that anyone who is considering purchasing this book, will not be disappointed.'
Amazon.com reader

'Philip Andrews' book is, like the program itself, full of features you don't find in many more expensive models. There are so many books on digital imaging these days that it is a pleasure to come across one where the trinity of author knowledge, ample meaningful illustration and facility of communication to the reader is so readily achieved.'

5.0 out of 5 stars Practical, fun and excellent value 6 April 2002
By A Customer
Format:Paperback
I'm usually just a 'happy snapper', but having recently bought a digital camera and Elements, I wanted to get the best out of both these toys.

This book is so good at explaining so many things which I would never have stumbled across by just playing with Element's controls and, most importantly, I can understand what I'm doing. It's beautifully laid out and it certainly helps having the images to download so that I can see what I'm trying to achieve, rather than just manipulating my own images.

The tone of the book is pitched at the right level - not patronising or assuming that the reader knows a lot about the subject.

As a beginner in digital imaging, I can thoroughly recommend this book.

5.0 out of 5 stars Adobe Photoshop Elements 6 July 2002
Format:Paperback
Want to learn Photoshop Elements and digital manipulation quickly and easily? This excellent book is the answer.

After wasting money on a number of other books on the subject I found Philip Andrews book to be clear concise and straight to the point - complete with a dedicated website featuring images and projects from the book - it has everthing you need. It will prove to be a very useful as an ongoing reference book.

You will not be disappointed with this book - great value at twice the price - I for one will be looking forward to further publications from the same author.
