The first great thing about Elements 4 is that you don't need an Intel Mac to run it on, unlike Elements 8. And it's cheaper. A PPC Mac will do. With this I have been able to restore my old family photos, removing dust and scratches. I have been able to stitch together photos, and spent many happy hours restoring a very badly damaged sepia photo. First I changed it to black and white, then increased the contrast, and by adding color I was really able to bring the photo to life. A spot 'healing' pen is useful and helps to remove scars on the original, and image selection is easy. That's creative! I'm no expert but I do recommend this app.

This is basically a very good product: sturdy enough to do its job reliably, well thought out for the most part and like all Manfrotto products built to last a lifetime. I use this monopod for three main functions: as a monopod for when I'm out and about on walks too long to really consider dragging a tripod around; as a hand held 'off camera' flash support/brolly holder; and as a walking stick for heavy terrain. It performs all of these functions admirably. IT has a very clever spring loaded dual thread feature for 3/8" or 1/4" threads (I have other equipment from which I'm constantly in fear of loosing the unsecured thread adaptor) and a nice padded/insulated hand grip at the top end, which is of particular comfort in cold weather when the metal body of the pod can become painfully cold. Height adjustment is easy and is performed via a very sturdy mechanism. Weight isn't an issue for me and it is certainly lighter than my carbon fiber tripod legs and head combination. The price point of this product is reasonable enough considering its build quality.
My only gripes are as follows: the wrist strap (which I use quite a lot when using the pod as a walking stick) simply keeps falling off - it's buckle system is simply not secure enough to hold it securely and it works loose frequently; there is only a rubber foot - a screw over rubber foot and spike arrangement would make give greater versatility and stability in some situations.
Generally very pleased.
