Whether you like it or not this is the industry standard creative production software. Yes it's expensive but it's powerful stuff. As another reviewer has already stated the packaging feels really cheap and yes it just contains three DVDs; One for the CS5 Software, one for Acrobat 9 Pro and one with additional documentation; and no this is not a fake or copied software this is a genuine Adobe product that I purchased from Amazon. It's just the way Adobe now ships its software now. Gone are the days when they used to supply printed manuals. I have purchased and installed Adobe products for years - anyone remember Adobe Illustrator 88? The packaging and presentation used to be substantial, now its just flimsy. The software on the disks however speaks for itself; in the studio environment this Suite is superb. Yes there are niggles but aren't there always? As an Adobe and Mac user for 20+ years this software is more powerful than ever, if you're moving from CS4 it might not be a huge jump but if you're moving from CS3 or earlier there are some big improvements. Heartily recommended.

This is a premium product and priced accordingly. When it finally arrived, due to delays from Adobe, a scrappy poorly-made little box with three dvds in it was all there was. This is absolutely rubbish for £1450! No accompanying books, the installation procedure is not correctly nor clearly documented, and the dvds unclear (what does a dvd with 'content' as the title mean? It seems that Adobe are going for the least for the most. Everyone in the office said ' Is that it?'.
The software may be powerful and industry-standard, but Adobe needs to up its presentation game. And no book to accompany this? Having everything documented online is not good enough for this price. Some of us like to sit and read about what we've just purchased to see what we can do with it. Oh, and one more thing - a MAJOR omission - no templates at all? No fine examples to see how best to use the products? The tools may be powerful but to only provide them for such a big amount of money is totally disappointing.
Feel good that we've now got this but feel sad that it arrived so poorly packaged, and not good in that I can't escape the feeling that we've been ripped off / under-delivered in some way.

New things in CS5 that are good:
Illustrator's Perspective Grid is amazing - really looking forward to doing more with that. Actionscript 3 is knee-tremblingly exciting - I hope to build an app with that. Acrobat Pro has been surprisingly useful.
Photoshop - you can rotate the image as much as you want and then snap back to the right way up again - which is great if you are drawing with a tablet - also the mixer brush and bristly brushes allow you to create very realistic painting effects!
Indesign CS5 - you can use pixels as a unit of measurement on your layout so now you can create web-pages in Indesign! Awesome.
Not so good stuff...
The 3D stuff in Photoshop looks terrible - like something out of a 20 year old computer game.
Fireworks seems to be completely useless - why do you need something for building websites that can't output useful HTML? Dreamweaver also seems to be a bit old-school given that it doesn't display php or really display HTML properly. So forget CSS2 drop-shadows or even relative positioning from showing up.
But what services do Adobe give you if you purchase your own copy?
The only service I have found useful is "Browserlab" which allows you to see a snapshot image of how your websites look in different browsers, and apparently I only get access to this service for a few months - after which I will have to pay a fee to use it.
To build websites, you would think that CS5 was all you needed, but because Dreamweaver doesn't display your HTML or PHP site properly, you need Firebug to examine your site and a virtual server (WAMP XAMP or MAMP etc) to test it. Also you should get a dedicated FTP tool, as Dreamweaver wants you to build nothing but a static HTML site, you will find it awkward to send files to the server with it.
So what is the point of Dreamweaver?
