CS5.5 is one of the biggest upgrades of all time from Adobe. The list of new features is extensive and if you're into the cutting edge this update is epic!
Before I go on about how great it is I want to point out that the pricing structure from Adobe still favours the USA. If you live outside of the USA you'll be getting close to paying double the price (or more than double depending on your Country). It has always been this way so it isn't just this update or this piece of Adobe software.
Onto the software itself...
The greater HTML5 and CSS3 support is excellent. There was an extension you could install prior to this but it now comes built into the software. The CSS3 elements also include the browser variants like -moz- and -webkit-
Multi-Screen authoring if your developing a website for phones, tablets and desktops is really handy because you can view all 3 on the screen at the same time.
I think the biggest news here is the mobile support using jQuery mobile. This framework will make adding widgets a breeze but the most important aspect is the ability to choose the window size for your design view so it actually feels like you're looking on the phone.
5.5 also has better support for content management system (CMS) frameworks like WordPress, Joomla!, and Drupal. The Dynamically Related Files feature provides direct access to a page's related files, even for dynamic pages, and Live View Navigation offers accurate previews of dynamic applications.
This is a huge update and a very exciting one. If Adobe had sorted out the distorted pricing structure I would have been recommending this upgrade to everyone. If you don't mind paying quite a bit more for the same tool (compared to the USA) then this is one huge update!

Amazon Verified Purchase
Seems to work aOK, didn't buy the suite as I run Illustrator 7.01 / PM65 / Photoshop 5 (from the 90's) on another machine. I was wary, as there have been reported problems with Dreamweaver 5x. It all turned out fine however, & seems stable, I don't have any crashing problems (that have been reported by others). I run this on a HP Corei5, with 4 gig ram, clean-install win XP SP3 machine. I got my copy of Dreamweaver at a good price, & it's pricing by Adobe is bearable, but.....
I would have liked to buy the Suite & get the extra features on my Aged Adobe progs, but the US /UK pricing structure sticks in my throat (like when you pay the electric bill you feel you've just been done-over). I have purchased software in the US (when being there for extensive periods of time), & I can't believe we still pay so much more than US buyers. I know the taxes are bad here , but this can't account for a fifty-percent increase in price, on a cardboard box, & a CD!!! Adobe are just pricing what the market will bear I guess, ho-hum.
I'm only giving 4 stars because of the price, the software seems fine.

If you are seeking a web design package to create a website for your small business, about your hobby or for a society or club you may belong to, try Web Easy 8, as Dreamweaver is a comprehensive package for the professional web designer.
There are college courses teaching people how to use Dreamweaver, so you will only create websites quickly in Dreamweaver if you have previous experience using it or some knowledge of HTML code!
The difference between Dreamweaver versions is negligable, so if you need to create professional websites, it might be worth finding a copy of Dreamweaver 8 for sale, as the latest version will not offer you much more and if you have never used Dreamweaver before, you wouldn't notice the difference.
Dreamweaver is the premiership package for web design, provided you know what you are doing.
Anyone who knows HTML code will love this software, but if you don't know HTML and have had no experience of building web sites before, this is seriously not for you.
