4.0 out of 5 stars It Really is a Quickstart 2 Mar 2011
By bigmac - Published on
This is an excellent book if you're upgrading from Reader and/or you've never used a full version of Acrobat before. It covers everything from opening and closing a file to using the cloud computing site.

Acrobat is much more than just a program to open a PDF. This Visual Quickstart Guide goes over most everything you will need in order to become proficient at Acrobat X. The chapters and functions are well organized, the instructions precise and clear, and most importantly -- there are screen shots of almost all the steps you will be taking as you perform a task.

I am very familiar with Acrobat 9, but the new Acrobat X has changed the interface substantially. I am giving a presentation about the new Acrobat X to a computer user group and this book made an easy task of learning where everything is now located and how to perform functions step by step.

I highly recommend the book to anyone who wants to learn Acrobat X quickly and effortlessly.
5.0 out of 5 stars My Guides of Choice for Learning 30 Nov 2013

The Visual QuickStart Guide book series for learning graphics programs has been my mainstay for learning for many years. One of the most important reasons I always look for the guide for any new program is the series way of the "how-to" explanations in order to present the necessary detail to learning the programs well. It is very important to me to be able to be able to grasp the techniques quickly and accurately.
5.0 out of 5 stars So simplified that I actually understood it 7 Jun 2013

This is the third book that I own address ADOBE Acrobat X and this one is so simple that although much information is missing; it was easy to learn but a few new things. Every book I have contains something of value. I would not rely on this as my regular "go to" reference it certainly is worth the money.

1.0 out of 5 stars Don't buy Acrobat X 4 July 2012
By WR Davis - Published on
Format:Paperback|Verified Purchase
After reading Adobe's description of how the full version of Acrobat X could edit PDF documents I was extremely disappointed to find that it cannot. If Acrobat does not have the exact font as the document you want to edit, it cannot do anything! It won't even allow you to delete the text and replace with a different font. This product just simply does not do what Adobe says it can! I would not recommend. The PDF editor from InFix is much better.
