I bought this some time ago when I was using Acrobat 9 - I have now updated to Acrobat 10 (and bought this same publication but for Acrobat X). Somehow, I overlooked the review at the time. The book is very easily-understood and walks the reader through the many aspects of this excellent Adobe programme. I can thoroughly recommend it to you.

So-So Book 28 Mar. 2010
By Thomas E. Hendricks - Published on Amazon.com
Format: Paperback
This book is certainly better than the Help file (which as a class for most software these days is no help). It puts a tag line on the cover that it addresses VBA and other "advanced" issues with the product. It really doesn't, a few pages beyond what you would expect in any user interface manual is all that is provided.

From the commentary in the book's what to expect setup sections you can infer this book is encouraged by Adobe so they can in fact avoid providing a good Help file. I'd prefer a book guided by extensive direct use as opposed to one guided by the software publisher. If the software publishers tried to produce a product that wouldn't require such after-market documentation all would be better off.

Haven't had the time to totally read everything in this book. I bought used and unfortunately seller did not package well enough and the CD included with the book was cracked in half as it was only packaged in a tyvec envelope so in transit it didn't make it. It would be nice to have the CD as it contained an electronic copy of the book.

Acrobat 9 PDF Bible 4 Jan. 2011
By Dr William P. Rodden - Published on Amazon.com
Format: Paperback Verified Purchase
I have an 800 pg book written in Word but now in PDF for publication. I need Indexes for Subjects and Authors. There was nothing in this book to tell me how to make an Index for the back of the book, even though this book has such an index at the back of the book. The index it describes is some other kind of Index. This book (and 3 others I bought) was worthless to me. I would like to know why Indexes at the back of the book were not discussed. My Word 2003 Manual has 8 (only eight)instructions to do the job! It's not that hard that Padova should have ignored it.
