First, this is not specifically for the iPhone 4 - it is just a general purpose clamp for any phone or camera that happens to fit it. However, it does hold the iPhone 4 quite securely - I have a thin case on the phone and the spring loaded clamp just stretches far enough to hold it. The nice thing about it is that you can remove the tacky tripod and use it on any standard tripod (it does look a bit silly on my big tripod but it gives rock steady videos!).

Considering that specialist clips and tripod adapter for the iPhone 4 can cost over twice this product's price it's a cheap and cheerful way of getting steady video shots.

In short: I opened the box, I put my iphone to test the tripod, did a photo, removed my iphone and started to fold the tripod back (softly), satisfied. Except that... when I folded it one leg stayed in my hand. The connector from the legs to the upper system is too thin so it broke the first time I tried. I don't understand the reviews that said it's tough and solid.

I bought this just needing a cheap and cheerful tripod to hold my iPhone while I record a video interview. For £9.99, this one looked like it would just about do the job, but it's actually much better-built than I expected!

The top catch is spring-loaded, and extends enough to hold my iPhone 4 in a bumper case. The spring is strong enough to hold it sturdily, and the plastic is strong enough that I'm not worried at all about it snapping under the strain. Also, it isn't very obvious from the photos, but the camera grip is on a neat little ball joint, which holds strong when it's unscrewed.

For the money, this thing is surprisingly good. :)

The tripod as it stands is very handy but for me the best feature was to be able to separate the camera holding part and attach it to a full size tripod where it is not possible to find a suitable place for the small tripod supplied. A brilliant device

I didn't buy this off here, but I looked at these reviews before buying and I don't think they really represent the product very well, so I want to set the record straight. I also looked for a review on youtube which helped me a lot.

I bought this primarily for my ipod touch 4 which is much thinner than any iphone or other ipod but it holds it well and firmly in place. The top adjustment part is on a spring I'd imagine so that's how it's held in place so well. There is also some thin foam on the inside to stop your phone/ipod from getting scratched or damaged. I also have a blackberry touch 9800 (I think) and it also fits in with no problems.

Yes the item does seem a bit cheap but for the price, I'm not actually fussed. I don't know how people have broken them so quickly? Perhaps their tripods were faulty or they were just being a bit too rough with it? Who knows. Mine is fine, and the fact that the legs extend is brilliant.

The ball fixture that allows the holder to move '360 degrees' needs to be screwed tight, obviously don't move the ball without unscrewing because you'll just wreck it. But again this feature does the job.

Even if the bottom half does break, I know I can invest in a better tripod and just screw the ipod/phone holder on to the top of it, so it's worth it just for that really.

All in all this product is worth the money, it's cheap and cheerful but it does the job. I hope this helps any prospective buyers make a more informed decision.

I only needed this for some basic video work and it's great. It stretches so will fit most phones (it's not actually designed for an iPhone I don't think). The tripod is small and it is what it says it is. I was impressed for the cost. If you're looking for an all singing, all dancing tripod then this is likely not what you're looking for. If you want a simple, portable option then this will do the trick.

I had been looking for one of these tripod attachments for my iPhone with some difficulty until I saw this.

I saw a comment about the quality of the tripod being a bit poor and I will admit this is the case. After few days one of the legs on the tripod has started to slip. However, it is the attachment I really wanted as I have another tripod for my camera and this can now simply be attached.

Tripod poor but docking element to iPhone ok and given the price of anything Apple it's not bad. Certainly improves stability of taking photos with the iPhone.

Firstly the product I received was not even as described. The box says "mobile holder" with a photo of a candybar Sony Ericsson K800. There is no mention anywhere that it fits the iPhone/iPod! So it comes as no surprise that when trying to fit my iPhone 4 the holder is stretched almost as if it was about to bend/break. I can see now why some people have managed to break it so easily.

The build quality is low, cheap plastic is used at crucial points of the holder and tripod. I don't see this item fit for anything other than some occasional use and I would certainly not expect it to last.

If I could I would return it but considering the price it seems too much hassle, and that's the most annoying bit!

So save yourself time and money. Don't bother, it's not worth it.
