The stresses placed on a fast bowler's body as they pass through their delivery stride can be tremendous, and as such it is essential that they are provided with the necessary level of support and protection they need to sustain optimum intensity for as long as possible. The Adidas Twenty2Yds Mid IV Cricket Boot has been engineered with these requirements in mind, drawing on the expertise and guidance of England bowlers Stuart Broad and Steven Finn. The substantial, contoured mid-sole offers a bowler's lower body the considerable support and cushioning it needs as they pass through their delivery stride, whilst an adiPRENE®-lined insole dissipates rebound shockwaves away from contact areas to minimise the damage that can occur with a sustained, high-intensity bowling action. A bowling specific, sloping design has been incorporated into the upper to offer the fast bowler's foot the space it needs to manoeuvre during impact, whilst a TPU injected torsion bar maintains shape and form to minimise the risk of injury. The boot has not been designed exclusively for fast bowlers however. TRAXION® blades are implemented in a circular pattern to aid a spin bowler's rotation as they pass through their delivery stride, ensuring a smoother, more comfortable action. Despite its robust construction, the boot remains lightweight and incredibly breathable with a mid-cut upper offering superior flexion and proprioception. Ventilated synthetic inserts, a mesh tongue and padded ClimaCool® mesh 'comfort zones' allow air to fully permeate the boot, offering unparalleled breathability and comfort. Should the boot become loose at any point during the session, a Velcro strap has been included to allow the wearer to readjust its tightness without having to unlace and slow the game down in the process.
