Product Description

Product Description

Adele's soulful voice, catchy hits and vulnerable personality have won her critical acclaim and huge popularity. She shattered a chart record of 21 years standing when her second album, 21, remained at the number one spot in the UK charts for 15 consecutive weeks. A global success, Adele has topped the charts in 18 countries. But who is she? What is the truth of the tempestuous life that has so influenced her heartbreaking tracks? How did she overcome the challenges that threatened to derail her career? This compelling book traces her story from her childhood in London, where she began singing at the age of four. During her teenage years she wrote her own music and attended the BRIT school, alongside the likes of Leona Lewis. After posting demos on the MySpace website she earned a record deal and quickly captured our hearts. Adele remains an unlikely icon. Her looks are unusual in a formulaic world of celebrity image, she suffers badly with pre-stage nerves and once cancelled a cruicial promotional trip to America because she felt too down to travel. This is a full, unflinching portrait of a genuine talent and inspiring, uncompromising woman - the curvy girl-next-door who conquered the world.

Adele Laurie Blue Adkins, This book is a very detailed, deep and inspirational insight into the now world famous Singer, This book has such a personal connection with Adele herself, the way Chas has written it makes you feel as if you've grown up your whole life with Adele and you personally know her, you've experienced everything her..
You find out everything from how she Got her Middle names to how she got signed to her Record Label.. Not only do you get an insight into Adele's personallity from her, you get information from others in her life, like her mother Penny and fellow students at BRIT school like Jessie J.
If you've ever wondered what makes Adele who she is today, how she taught herself to sing by finding a CD in the bargain bin at HMV, then this Book is for you. From the first page, it just draws you in and takes you on an incredible journey threw Adeles life and will help you to appreciate everything so much more about this soulful singer.

You shall not regret buying this book!

Enjoy, Max. :)

Page Turner.... 2 Jan 2012
Format:Hardcover
I've been a fan of Adele for as long as I can remember, even more so after I attended her one night concert at The Royal Albert Hall in 2011. So naturally, when I realised there was a book written about her, like any loyal fan would - I went out and bought a copy.
I found the best thing about the book is that it makes you feel right at home, like you're actually talking to her face to face. It's as if you're in her front room reading (asking) the questions, and she's answering, and if you've heard her speak, you can imagine what that's like!

It's a real page turner, and if you're a hardcore fan like I am, you will most certainly not be disappointed. Here's to you Chas!

Very badly written
I doubt whether Adele had much input into this book. It felt as though the author cobbled together "news" adn clips from the glossies. Read more

not much about Adele
I found this book boring. Chas Newkey Burden rants on and on and often states the obvious. His writing style seems to be far more to do with the industry than the person he is... Read more

I didn't like this book. It was full of great facts, I suppose, but I found it boring. I just expected more about Adele's personal life.

Adele
Admire the lady, love the music, this biography however is thin in content and not well crafted. However for Adele devotees worth a read.

A bit premature
I was really disappointed by this book, I think due to Adele only being young and having not been in the public eye for too long, this book was a bit premature. Read more
