A gem! I only discovered Paddy Casey about 2 years ago when I got my hands on the excellent "Living" album. This was quickly followed by the earlier "Amen (so be it)". I was never happy putting singers into categories and to be honest, it would be hard to put a label on Paddy Casey. Having heard 3 tracks from "Adicted To Company" on radio, I decided to get the album. This is one talented Paddy and I believe that "Adictited to Company" will become an even bigger favourite than "Living" and in just a week since I got it, it's hardly left my CD player!

Buy it now ... and risk becoming Adicted to Paddy!

At first i was a little dissapointed with this album. But coming back to it a few months later in a more relaxed mode i think its great easy to listen to, catchy nice tunes and songs. I appreciate all music and couldnt really fault this as thankfully artists are different. His voice is the selling point for sure. I really like it.

As I write this review, Paddy Casey is backing KT Tunstall on a US tour, and I wish him luck. This little Irishman had a hard life before going from busker to superstar in his home country, and is now making strenuous efforts to repeat that success over the pond.

He describes his music as Soul/Indie/Folk Rock, which is near the mark, although I think he exhibits a little less soul than he'd like to think.

His lyrics are not compelling enough nor his music melodic enough to make me want to keep replaying this album. The production is very good, but that somehow just serves to highlight the limitations of the songs. As a performer/musician/singer/songwriter, he is a formidable package, and one that is best heard live. But in each one of those roles individually, he falls just short. His lyrics, printed in the insert to this CD, are unexceptional and sometimes downright trite. The music often reverts to a throbbing insistence that seems to have nowhere to go. His voice, though powerful and expressive, is often not quite on-key.

You don't have to buy this album without knowing whether he will be to your taste, as there are clips a-plenty of his music throughout the Internet, so you can hear enough to decide if you want to throw some money in his hat.

Note: there is an untitled, hidden, 14th track - at least there is on the US release - offering a quiet and innocuous coda to this undemanding album.
