Right, first of all the name of the product is misleading, DVI-I to YUV because it is not, what this is is a DVI plug with the analogue pins connected to three RCA sockets.
This is largely pointless.
The three plugs are for Red, Green, and Blue not for Luma and Chroma (YPbPr) which is what your Wii will send out
Some other reviewers have said incorrect things, e.g. DVI is digital only - no it is not, DVI-D is Digital only, DVI-A and DVI-I has analogue video the analogue bits of a DVI connector usually connect to a VGA lead. I can't think of a reason why you would have three RCA plugs other than to sell the lead to people expecting it to work with a Wii.
If you want to connect your wii to a monitor look for an RGBHS cable, a bit like this one Playstation 3 Ps3 Nintendo Wii Vga Monitor Cable Lead

There's nothing wrong with the product ... if people were smart enough to figure out HOW to use it.
If you want to use this on a console (PS3/XBOX360/Wii) without anything else, IT WILL NOT WORK. If you use RCA cables, the signal coming out of the console is Analog. DVI/HDMI etc. are DIGITAL signals. Therefore, you need something between your console and your TV/Monitor to change the signal to DIGITAL. Note that if you do this, some data IS LOST.
It's like trying to use a toothpick to hang up a painting and being pissed off at it because it wont hold ....

This didn't work, didn't think it would but took the gamble anyway!
I give it one star for a couple of reasons, firstly because it makes you laugh when it arrives, it just so obviously will not work. Secondly I chucked it at a bin and it made a quite satisfying clang sound when it hit.

Doesnt work
basicaly i found out...... the component is for analouge and dvi is digital, you cant have analouge going into digital unless you have a special converter, which is EXPENSIVE!!!

what would you use it for?
bought it to connect wii to screen.... didn't work so it is no good.
but it may be useful for something else.
