This is a good value metal stand that is sturdy and easily adjusts. It can be used for when you are standing, (I am 6 ft) and when sitting. The stand easily holds several books and pencil. These stands are the same as used by schools day in day out by children, so are pretty robust.

Gone are the days of these old rickety 5-piece collapsible stands! This stand is a terrific piece of kit - built like a tank! Clydebuilt battle-cruiser quality. It is ideal for orchestral players or music teachers - you can pencil in your annotations - with one hand - and the stand doesn't fall over! It is not portable, of course, but is ideal for a fixed location, eg. a studio or music room.

The top of the patten, at full extension, is 140cm (55") which is comfortable if you practise standing up no matter how tall you are - a former Amazon customer/reviewer guided my choice in this.

I highly recommend it!

I bought this stand and was delighted with it.. in fact i gave it 5 stars in my original review soon after i bought it.
Now, a mere 3 months down the line, keeping in mind that the stand hasn't been used every day... and not at all in the Xmas period.. so about 1-2 months of use.. the plastic collar on the body of it has snapped. This means that the stand just slips and cannot be adjusted to any height.

I am not sure if this problem is a common one, but even if not, it is a pain if you have an adjustable stand that you cannot adjust. I need to sit to play now... on the carpet!

I have been in touch with the seller to see if a spare plastic collar can be sent.. no response so far, maybe they will respond.

If not.. thumbs down to this product. And will get a tube of Superglue.

This is one really good stand. It is effortlessly adjustable and excellent value for money. The bottom lip is just over an inch which is invaluable if you want to have more than one book on the stand.

This stand seemed stable, sturdy and good value; but after a short time one of the tightening knobs broke off under normal use, leaving me to struggle with a pair of pliers. If you intend to adjust this stand frequently, it may not be a good buy.

Would have been very good but for the securing knob at the top of the legs failing after two uses. It will now not do up tight but just turns around. The stand is still usable but not as steady as it should be.

This is a very sturdy stand but not too heavy or ungainly. It can be easily moved and whilst not as compact or discrete as the old -fashioned folding ones, it is not an ugly object in my view and feels as if it will last a very long time

I play the flute and practise standing up. I'm not particularly tall (5' 7'') but I struggled to find a music stand tall enough to avoid aching shoulders/neck and having to hunch over when I get to the bottom of the page! This stand looks good, is very stable and plenty tall enough. The top section has a lip that is nice and wide so you can leave several pieces of sheet music and books on it. Really pleased with this good quality music stand at a fantastic price.
