This book was awesome- easy to read, clearly written and with respect towards the Chinese side of things.
IT is a good book for the novice acupuncturist who may feel bewildered at the vast number of points and approaches to treating a condition. It demystifies the treatment, and the author comes up with a new concept - the acupuncture treatment area - ATA- which makes sense too as in any small area the inervation is likely to be the same to tissues adjacent to each other! Overall a neccessary book for the library of all Western trained acupuncturists.

opinion only,
This review is from: Acupuncture in Practice: Beyond Points and Meridians (Paperback)
Much information given on the opinion by the author and therefore leads to his bias. Not recommended for general interest.

. . . for saving me £21.99 !!
I only had to read that the author believes acupuncture to be about stimulating the peripheral nervous system ("innervation") to realise that this book was definitely not for me! To demystify is to explain the mysterious, and do so from a place of profound, and by definition, uncommon insight. If a serious student of acupuncture wants to "go beyond" points and meridians in terms of understanding acupuncture then I'd recommend the study and practice of Qi Gong and/or Tai Chi Chuan - anything else is frankly less about demystifying and more about dumbing down. Any of BK Frantzis' books would be a good start!
