Book Description

This is a book for people who have never used a spreadsheet, but need to use one now.
It will work with any major spreadsheet program, but includes examples for Microsoft Excel® 2013.
I’ve assumed that you’ve used a computer, but that’s about it.
The book shows you everything you need to know to develop a simple business model, including cash flow.
This is a deliberately short book: if you want to know every possible function, button, use or permutation of Excel, buy another book. But read this one first.

Assumes that you know nothing whatsoever about spreadsheets, which describes most people. And then takes you all the way through to a cash flow model for your new business.

5.0 out of 5 stars Really useful for beginners 9 Jun. 2014
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
I need to use spread sheets for my new business and my son keeps telling me to go to an evening class to learn the basics but I don't have the time. I've looked at other books most of which are huge and seem to be for those you have some knowledge already, which has always put me off. So I've muddled along until I was recommended to give this book a try. I'm a complete beginner and found this so easy to understand-at last!! This is short to the point and does the trick. The style and format and how each step is explained is planned well, breaking it down into simple steps. At last its all beginning to make sense. The kindle format is new to me but its fine. I'd certainly recommend it, especially to anyone who is overwhelmed with the overload of Excel info already available and wants to learn the basics and then progress on to more fancy stuff.

A fair explanation of Excel but it hasn't quite reached my needs to realise how to use Excel as a word based database. It, like most of the tomes concentrates on the numeriacl aspects far too much for my needs! Don't let that put you off though! Your requirements may be totally different to mine, and maybe I'm chasing a wild goose!

Can't say it really turned me on -though a useful start - and I still needed to buy "Excel for Dummies"
