To do this, there is a range of lighting products from lamps to lanterns to torches available from Active Products to aid working.
This powerful quartz spotlight equates to the strength of 1 million candle power and so is perfect for illuminating areas where little other light is present. It is highly adaptable with a swivel stand located at the bottom, shoulder strap brackets and the handle can be altered to allow overhead carry or in a pistol-grip fashion. It has a built in 6V 4AH sealed lead acid rechargeable battery that will last 45 minutes on full charge. Charging can take place through both 12V vehicle and mains adaptors, both of which are supplied. Ideal for car, home, garage, workshop, caravan and boat.

I needed a torch for at night so my wife could walk the dog in safety; this was an excellent purchase for the money.
I've never seen 1Million candles together but suspect the beam resembles what the torch puts out as it shines for a very long way. I worried that the batteries wouldn't last given that beam was so strong, but the charge seems to hold up well.

Lamp dies if not regularly recharged,

This was a great lamp when I bought it from a local hardware store. Really bright and portable, and perfect I thought for keeping it in the car in case of a night-time breakdown. The 'fine manual' does, though, have a whole list of 'do not's' which weren't mentioned to me when I bought it, including "Failure to re-charge [the torch] every 3 months may damage or reduce the performance of the spotlight". Whilst I did try to recharge it every couple of months, I didn't keep track of the dates (life isn't long enough for that sort of record-keeping for minor appliances ;-\) and the thing's now kaput. I've tried recharging it the last few days and there isn't a peep out of the bulb (the filament's still intact), and all internal connections are ok, so that's that to the recycling centre, sadly. I think this is because it's powered by a lead acid battery, and as any car owner knows, if those are left long enough they'll 'go off'. It would be a real help if there were a charge indicator, but there isn't. The moral of this is: read the fine manual before buying the product, and charge the thing regularly. I'll stick to a standard dry cell powered lamp in future.

I purchased this lamp because it looked exactly like a similar one that I bought four years ago, just a different name on it but I have to report that my new purchase is but a poor copy of the original. The body and build of the lamp is identical but the performance is very poor, if this lamp is 1 million candle power then the original one I purhased must be 3 million candle power.
