I confess this was an unplanned purchase, bought on a whim (and special offer), although even at full price it's still good value for money. Some assembly was required, but nothing technical or taxing. It looks quality, too. It's not heavy and has easy-to-use gear change. It does not have suspension or disc brakes, but for ordinary leisure use these are unnecessary. The Raleigh name always gives confidence and this is no exception. All in all, a good buy at a great price.

I purchased this in a hurry because my other bike got stolen :(. I don't know why, because it was rusty, the saddle was damaged and the brakes were non-existant.

Anyway, I needed a new bike straight away, found this on Amazon, did not expect too much of it but was pleasantly surprised! Not only did it arrive in no time (bought Sunday night, arrived Tuesday morning, delivered by a charming postman), but it was easy to assemble and it really does the job.

Now, for this price don`t expect a top quality bike, but it really gets you from A to B (office to train station in my case), fast (18 gears), safe (strong brakes) and that`s all what I need. It is not light but not too heavy either - for a mountain bike just the right weight.

The saddle is very comfortable and it comes with some reflection lights.

Very happy, can highly recommend it!

I bought this product expecting the same quality from a Raleigh bike as I had when growing up, but I was wrong. The bike is 'designed' by Raleigh, but made in Morocco. It arrived with the front forks back to front (this seems to be a habit, as a neighbour has the identical bike with backward facing forks too)and the front tyre was flat. It also appears to have come with a slow puncture as I have pumped it up on numerous occasions only for it to slowly deflate over a few days.

Comfort wise, it is not! However, a recently purchased gel saddle cover is helping things.

The gears don't engage cleanly, instead the chain clonks and rattles as it fails to get into gear.

For short journeys (on the near flat) it's OK as a back up, but it is a heavy bike and it takes a lot of work to get it up the gentlest of hills (especially with gears which don't seem to co-operate)

Overall, the manufacture quality isn't good and I wouldn't recommend it for a commute, not to mention up on hills, but for a 10 minute nip down to the shop, it's OK.

If the price is attractive, then go and take a test ride and then decide.

This is a great bike for those wanting a low-cost bike which will be used every now and then. Really happy with the quality of construction and the gears are smooth. The seat could be better quality but at this price there is not really any complaints.

One tip - tighten everything before setting off, especially the handlebars!

I have bought this bike for my 10 year old daughter who loved the ride staight away and is really happy with it. The delivery was fast, the bike was well packaged and it was also easy to assable, although you need a spanner to adjust the front wheel brake and an Allen-key to fasten the handlebar. The chain needed oiling as well, as it was delivered dry. Get yourself a good quality saddle though as this one is not the comfiest on long journeys! Otherwise it is a really sturdy no frills bike and definitely good value for money. We even got our eldest daughter one as well and she enjoys it equally.
We recommend this bike to anybody who is looking for quality on a budget,it's well worth buying.

This is a very good buy, if you are looking for an affordable bike for leisure or transport this is the perfect model. Assembly was easy and quick and the relevant tools were provided. Only problem would be the seat is uncomfortable, but for the price of the bike this is to be expected.
