Parents, see how easily you can teach your children about the miracle of Jesus's life, death, and resurrection using this tool. Churches, The Action Bible Easter Story is the perfect resource for Sunday school teachers and families.

Don't forget the most important gift of all this year. Share the true meaning of Easter with The Action Bible Easter Story.
Sergio Cariello was born in Brazil in 1964 and started drawing as soon as could hold a pencil. At the age of five, he already knew that he wanted to be a cartoonist. And so did everyone else--he drew on church bulletins, napkins, and every surface wtihin his reach. He currently resides in Holiday, Florida.

Sergio has worked for Marvel Comics and DC Comics. He attended the Joe Kubert School of Cartoon and Graphic Art as well as the Word of Life Bible Institute in upstate New York.

In February, 2006, he was contacted by David C. Cook to gauge his interest in a new project; completely re-illustrating Cook's classic Picture Bible. What David C. Cook couldn't know is that Sergio had grown up in Brazil with a Portuguese translation of that very same Picture Bible. He was reading the Picture Bible before he learned to ride a bike! Even though he knew as a kid that he wanted to be a comic artist, he never would have dreamed that he would one day get to work on the Picture Bible itself!

5.0 out of 5 stars A great resource for schools 7 Mar 2014

The Bible can appear dull and boring to children who find the tiny print and language tricky but an animated version enables them to see the story.

5.0 out of 5 stars Jesus, the BEST action hero ever! 25 Feb 2014

A brief synopsis of what this colorful, accurate rendition of the Easter story contains is below.

This story starts on Palm Sunday with Jesus riding on a donkey. Interesting to read about the history of the gates of Jerusalem how many other famous kings and conquerors had entered through them in the past. We see the righteous anger of Jesus in the temple courts, the Pharisees trying to trick Jesus and Jesus seeing the widow putting her money in after the proud man.

Passover problems:
Judas strikes a deal. Jesus sends Peter and John to get things ready for the Passover. Once Jesus has washed everyone's feet it is time for the Lord's Supper. Jesus tells Peter he will deny Him. Later when he goes up to pray we read "Oh Dad, if it is possible, please don't make me suffer for people's sins, but I will do whatever you ask." When being arrested Peter cuts off the ear of a servant.

On Trial:
Peter denies Jesus. Judas realizes his sin. Jesus is beaten, carries his cross, is crucified and tells one of the robbers that he will be with him today in heaven. Jesus gives up His spirit and the veil of the temple is torn in two.

The Sealed tomb:
Joesph of Arimathea is given permission to take the body of Jesus and bury it in his own tomb. Remembering what Jesus said about rising from the dead after 3 days, Pilate orders Roman soldiers to guard it. Nothing can stop Jesus though!

The earth shudders and the stone rolls away! The Roman soldiers are bribed to spread the lie that Jesus' disciples came and stole the body. Whilst they are doing that, Jesus appears to Mary and some of his disciples both on the road to Emmaus and in the locked room. Later Jesus comes back when Thomas is present to show him his scars. We also see Jesus on the shore when the disciples are out fishing. Jesus has his conversation with Peter and tells him to feed HIS sheep. After appearing to the 500 we see him ascend into heaven and the angels telling the people that one day He will return just the way he left.

Well-written and illustrated. Scripture references throughout. A great way for children to visualize what actually happened.

EXCELLENT and HIGHLY recommended from our house to yours!
