I purchased mine from tarja's pledge music site. A beautifully well binded mediabook+3dvds+2cds. The performances were brilliant, the singing is equally beautiful and the fans were ecstatic. The first 2 dvds are live performances from the two nights at Rosario and the songs are not repeated. The 3rd (bonus) dvd is an audience handheld camcoders recordings. Although the music is very good, you are not missing much. Overall, this is a very good package and well worth the wait.

All hail the Goblin Queen! Yes, here comes the former Nightwish singer with a double live album for your delectation. ANd it's a proper live album this time, unlike the somewhat bizarre Tarja Turunen & Harus "Live at Sibelius Hall" collaboration. So you're getting the best of her two solo albums (excluding her Christmas thing), along with a brief smattering of Nightwish across two live CDs (and a DVD should you be so inclined).

Now, no-one is going to argue that the solo material that Tarja has recorded is on a par with the best of Nightwish, but then very little is. However, she has managed to make two good, if not great, albums. And she remains the Queen of all things gothic. Don't argue. I may have warmed to her pixie like replacement, but Tarja will always be number one. So, the music. Well, I'll get the annoying bit out of the way first. It's a live album. So I don't want audience fade outs, and I don't want the running order rejigged. I want it to flow, like a concert. So a kick up the arse for whoever was responsible for the dreadful editing on what could have been an excellent release.

Once you get past that, it's pretty good. It's heavier than the studio releases, which works well, and there is no doubting that Tarjas love them or hate them soprano vocals are in fine form. As it's a double, you end up with most of her solo material, along with the Nightwish classic 'Nemo' and a couple of covers from her Nightwish days, in the shape of 'The Phantom Of The Opera' and 'Over The Hills And Far Away'. She also chucks in her somewhat bizarre cover of Whitesnakes 'Still Of The Night' from her "What Lies Beneath" album.

Exactly as described and the cd lived up to all expectations. Tarja may not be for everyone but as a fan the whole recording will give you an ear full of pleasure. One word BRILLIANT

The sound quality here is pretty unspectacular for a 2012 live recording - having the appearance of a soundboard recording, with bass and drums very predominant. The music is OK, though, with the band suitably heavy and Tarja in fine voice, never missing a chance to make the audience go HEY HEY HEY HEY HEY HEY HEY HEY HEY HEY HEY HEY HEY.... I must admit I prefer the studio versions, but, being hopelessly in love with Tarja, I can't possibly give this any less than four stars. Only, get the studio albums first.

As with the DVD, Tarja's "Act 1" CD is a winner. Though track list doesn't follow the DVD, this double CD allows fans or beginners to revisit/visit Tarja's first two solo rock albums, namely "My Winter Storm" and "What Lies Beneath". Besides this, the listener is offered contemporary versions of earlier Nightwish songs, such as "The Phantom Of The Opera" or "Nemo". Last but not least, two new songs, "Into The Sun" and "Never Enough" reveal a most likely great new album in the near future; an "Act 2", who knows?

As said, it's a winner. The live versions of rock songs within her solo career are, in general, instrumentally heavier while vocally exhibit shifts in tone when compared to the studio versions. This is both an added value as well as the guarantee that there's no playback; just that incredible voice that she's been gifted with! On contemporary versions of earlier Nightwish tracks, different and unique, particularly "Phantom Of the Opera"! On the new songs, a very promising follow-up!

A negative note on the "Ear Music" label which has to do with the CD editing; beginning with track' reshuffling, followed by the inter-track cuts in which Tarja addresses the audience several times, as well as with fade outs and ins between tracks, all contribute to the systematic disruption of a live performance! If recording space on a CD cannot rival that of the DVD, it's also true the former only carries audio info. A triple CD would surely have solved the problem and, for a few more Pounds, fans would be able to listen to the whole thing! Tarja deserved better!!!
