As the soundtrack to 2007's Musical Across the Universe this album is an interesting mixture of Beatles song renditions sung by the cast of the film.
The songs are spread over two disc's which makes this great value for money as most soundtracks are just one disc.
The songs themselves are very good with stand out tracks for me being 'I've just seen a Face', 'Helter Skelter', 'Let It Be' and 'If I Fell'.

I highly recommend this to any fan of The Beatles or musicals in general and even if you haven't seen the film the music stands on its own merit.

As a teenager in the 60s I grew up with the Beatles and other 60s icons
I missed the release of this movie and only watched it some two years after its release. I honestly think if this movie was publicised more it could have quite easliey been as big as Mamma Mia. I am the first person to critisise Beatles covers but this is just perfect with just one the version of Mr Kite by Eddie Izzard as also a previous review said.
Its an enjoyable trip back in time. I can now say it is one of my favorite musical movies BUY IT

I am not a Beatles fan, but after watching the film "Across the Universe", I have appreciated their music far more. This 2 CD is an excellent interpretation of some of the Beatles songs and a good sound recording. It brings back to life some of the songs, not forgotten but perhaps those which have not been played for a while on the radio. Would definitely recommend it - very nostaglic!

if you have never heared 'the beatles' before, then the film "across the universe" with its sound track will really bring you back to the 60's!!
