Having used a past version of True Image, I was expecting great things from this latest version, particularly the Non-Stop backup feature.
Guess what, it doesn't work. Let me rephrase that, I couldn't get it to work. Restoring to an earlier time or date didn't seem to do anything, with or without a reboot. Even worse, trying to restore from a complete backup, performed from inside Windows (Windows 7 x64 in my case) didn't work either, necessitating a lot of messing around with restore options and then a Windows start-up repair. Even the rescue media would not restore any of my backups, despite them being verified. This is supposed to be a simple one-click operation for goodness sake!
Backup and rescue software that neither backs up or rescues is worse than useless as it instils a false sense of security.
Until such time as Acronis fix these issues I would urge potential purchasers to avoid this product and instead look at (working) alternatives.

I have been experiencing problems with Acronis software since the day it arrived two months ago. Because I was having difficulty with the 2010 version I contacted Acronis customer services and they sent me an email suggesting what I could do to get it to work. We exchanged emails almost weekly, each time they were either asking me to note exactly what error messages I got when the software failed or they were suggesting things I could `try' to get it working correctly, none of these solutions worked satisfactorily. I then got an email from Acronis which read: 'In order to investigate further we would request you to uninstall Acronis True Image Home 2010 from your computer and as we have recently launched a new version of Acronis True Image Home 2011 so kindly install the Trial version of Acronis True Image Home 2011. NonStop Backup has been significantly improved in the new version and should work fine without any issues.'
I installed the 2011 version but this was no better than the previous version which I then reported back to Acronis and this time they replied: `It is confirmed that it is an ongoing issue with the nonstop backup of Acronis True Image Home. This issue has been reported to our development team. The current plan is to fix all these issues in the next update for Acronis True Image Home which is planned to be released in about 1-2 months (no clear time frame yet) so until then we suggest you to avoid using this software and use other backup instead.'
So there you have it straight from the manufacturer's mouth, there is a known fault and it does not work. I asked for a refund and they said because I had bought it from Amazon I must ask them for a refund. Amazon will not give me a refund because the software has been opened (exactly, how else would I know it does not work!) I have since been back to Acronis to explain that Amazon will not issue a refund and they have replied that neither will they! My advice to anyone thinking of buying this software - don't, it does not work and you will be wasting your money and you will not get a refund.

I've been trying the trial version of the software and after reading its capabilities I was hoping to use it to replace Windows Backup on my Windows 7 PC.
Unfortunately, it didn't live up to its promise (and that of Acronis reputation of some years ago). While certainly more flexible than Windows Backup it is just to buggy to be used seriously.
Backup (or at least verification) takes an age (overnight) and never actually finishes - it always stalls with 10-20 'minutes remaining' and has to be cancelled manually. I cannot now even use Windows Backup. The option to switch to this never worked and even after uninstalling the software the link in 'control panel' is now dead. Hopefully rolling back to a restore point will sort this out.
All-in-all a bad experience and I would agree with the other poor reviews this product (& 2010 version) has had here and elsewhere.
I will be trying Paragon Backup & Recovery - this has some better reviews.
