‘The book succeeds by confirming that absorption and diffusion are common to all surfaces and all materials. Highly recommended.’ – Noise Control Engineering Journal
Absorbers and diffusers are two of the main design tools for altering the acoustic conditions of rooms, semi-enclosed spaces and the outdoor environment. Their correct use is important for delivering high quality acoustics.
Unique and authoritative, this book decribes how to effectively measure, model, design and apply diffusers and absorbers. It is a resource for new and experienced acousticians, seeking an understanding of the evolution, characteristics and application of modern diffusers. Absorption is a more established technology and so the book blends traditional designs with modern developments. The book covers practical and theoretical aspects of absorbers and diffusers and is well illustrated with examples of installations and case studies.
This new edition brings Acoustic Absorbers and Diffusers up-to-date with current research, practice and standards. New developments in measurement, materials, theory and practice since the first edition (published in 2004) are included. The sections on absorbers are extended to include more about noise control.

Excellent life time investment,
This review is from: Acoustic Absorbers and Diffusers: Theory, Design and Application (Hardcover)
This book is a cutting edge of what a book can be about the concept, theory and design of diffusers and absorbers. It is written in the simplest language which a scientific book can be written. In order to interact with the book a good maths background is required. Designers, manufacturers and professional consultants with relevant academic background as well as students can make a great use of this book. There are matlab codes provided in appendix of the book for design purposes.

This review is from: Acoustic Absorbers and Diffusers: Theory, Design and Application (Hardcover)
In this book all concepts related to absorbers are covered, even some unusual configurations and applications to theatres, music practice rooms...There is also a very in-depth section aboutdiffuser design, ideal for any Acoustics student.
I bought this book because none of the copies available at my University library are available, what told me something about the quality of the book. Looks a bit pricey at first but it's good value for money. Totally recommended :)
