Review

“Acne For Dummies provides honest information about how to battle breakouts and keep skin healthy.” (Suite101.com, August 27th 2009)

Product Description

Acne is the most common skin disease in the United States, affecting more than 60 million adults and teenagers each year. Acne For Dummies addresses the causes of acne, and, most importantly, what can safely be done to cover it up, treat it, and minimize scarring. The book covers everything from daily skin care, over–the–counter acne preparations, and when to see a dermatologist to the hazards and benefits of prescription acne medications and the range of dermatological procedures available to erase aftereffects. Also covered are specific issues common to acne as seen in various ethnic groups and other skin problems, such as rosacea, a condition that people often mistake for acne.

1.0 out of 5 stars Dated information that will help few people to get rid of their acne for good., 12 Nov 2007

(REAL NAME)
This is another 'acne' book consumed with the belief that prescription drugs are the answer to achieving a clear complexion. The information in this book is outdated and therefore offers its readers very little help into getting rid of their spots permanently.
Goodheart refuses to acknowledge the correlation between diet and skin and actually mocks the idea! He will be telling us next that cancer has nothing to do with diet and there is less chance of heart disease the more hamburger and chips you eat! The appearance of acne has got everything to do with diet, I have proved this and I have also helped many people to manage their skin through diet.
I would definately recommend that you avoid buying this book as it is a complete waste of money.
