Its rare these days that I'm blown away by technology but the geek in me would not let me not try this laptop. I found it for a very reasonable price and took a punt and I'm thrilled with it.

Build quality is impressive, it feels exceptionally well made and both glass screens are solid with gorilla glass for extra protection. The touch screens are incredibly sensitive and great to use and the little touches Acer have made really add to the whole experience. The Acer keyboard is almost as good as using a proper keyboard and the touch-pad is also superb.

The laptop is quick and rarely lags and Acer has allowed easy access to the rear panel which allows access to the RAM (2 x 2GB modules) and hard drive. I have ordered 2 x 4GB modules to upgrade to 8GB just because I can and its quite a cheap upgrade, not necessarily because it needs it. There is also a free PCIe slot which I'm not sure what that could be used for.

The laptop runs quiet, even at full pelt and the screens, while reflective still have excellent visibility at almost all angles.

I don't like the battery life (about 2 hours) or the fact that it does not have an internal card reader (although Acer did provide an external device), but otherwise I'm very satisfied with my purchase. I love having two superb touch-screens and the functionality this provides. It will be interesting to see what Windows 8 will bring to this device although I am concerned that if I install the new O/S I will lose all the clever Acer software and functionality.

Highly recommend this machine, so unique, versatile and fun to use.

This really is an impressive piece of kit and, despite a few niggles, I'm really pleased with it.

As other reviews have said, the build is robust and the screen function very well. I'm not sure I totally agree that the machine "rarely lags": in terms of software and general response, it's fine and I agree with the comment but
a) it does take a long time to boot up from cold (to display the virtual keyboard)
b) the keyboard lags a little and takes some getting used to.
Having said that, I used the keyboard quite happily. (In fact, I use different languages and it's great being able to switch national keyboards with the press of a key.)

I've also found that using the touch sensitive features generally have changed the way I work and I need the keyboard a lot less, anyway.

I've installed quite a few applications and all have functioned without any problems - even by touch. In fact, I'm surprised how easy it is to be accurate with sausage fingers. It's also great when doing lots of copying to put two Windows explorers on the base screen and copy between them. When you create a new folder you simply switch to a virtual keyboard to enter the name and this shifts the Explorers up to the top screen. Then, when you dismiss the keyboard, they flip back down to their original position.

I've also switch the RAM to 2x4GB now. (Be careful that you get matching sticks.)

Okay. Weaknesses. The biggest is, of course, price. There are some cheaper units available from the US but there is a danger that you'll get clobbered with VAT and import duty.

As mentioned, the battery life is poor. It's to be expected: the screen is the biggest drain so running two of them is going to be demanding.

Hi, i bought this touch laptop some 4 month ago. I was looking for a touch screen and discovered this double touch screen product. It looked exciting and after having read some reviews i was convinced to buy it.

Do not get me wrong, its a nice gaget and if you do not want to carry it around and just keep it at home it is fine too however there are points which are to be considered:

battery: battery life is short. 1-2 hours max, so its not a device to carry with you. two screens simply use up to much battery too quickly

weight: wow heavy compared to all other laptops i had the past 5 years. but then it carries two big solid screens.

working: well the fact that it is a touch screen key board in stead of a real one was pretty excitibg at the beginning. but being honest, it annoys me working with it. on a very regular basis you hid the wrong buttons. i do have an ipad too and thought it is similar to work, which kind of is, but a laptop at least for me is supoosed to do much more writing than on an ipad. and what is acceptable on an ipad gets really anoying on this laptop. the most annoying thing i guess is that instead of hidding the space key, i hid the range of letters between C- M. My partner has exactly the same problem and we came to the conclusion that even though this laptop is and was supposed only to be used at home in the living room, we wouldnt purchase it again, as a touch screen key board, though easier to clean while dripping dinner on it, is just not convinient.

Many comments of people i read before i bough it, mentioned the difficulties of using a touch screen keyboard. i did not want to belive it and thought i know better to use it. But i have to admit the reviews were right.
