As a bit of background, I use a 30" Dell monitor in my office, so I am somewhat spoilt :) I decided that I would like to have a larger screen at home to use with my laptop when working from home and I also wanted a screen that I could potentially use on a boat, as I spend some time during the summer months living on a Narrowboat.
As you can imagine power on a boat, is a bit of an issue! So anything that runs on very low power is a great plus, I was amazed to find that this monitor has a smaller power supply than my Samsung NC10 Netbook.
The screen is very bright compared to my standard laptop and the contrast ratio really is as good as they say it is, deep blacks and very bright whites, last night we used the screen to watch some HD TV linked up to a Virgin V+ box and it worked brilliantly.
The monitor does have a speaker, which is built into the stand, the down side to this is it's just a single mono speaker, I would have prefered to have stereo speakers, but then, it's such a thin monitor that I cannot imagine speakers squeezed inside it would have sounded any good, so prehaps it's better to just use some external speakers.
In summary, I would highly recommend this screen :)
