This is set up as a duel boot machine, and there is a desktop icon that sets your options. You are prompted to select either Android or Windows 7, on boot up. Under no circumstances change this from booting up Windows 7, because it might kill the machine. You are not supplied with an install disk, as per normal with budget machines, so you might have to fork out for another copy (or send the thing back in disgust).
No doubt it worked like this when it left the factory, but machines are updated as soon as you connect to a network. This is beyond the suppliers' control hence my woes. I managed to get out of the cyclic reboots by leaving it for a few minutes (don't ask why!), and then promptly turning the confounded option off.
The good points? The netbook is a beautiful cool blue with a funky embossed design on the case. The machine performs quite will, although boot up is slow, possibly this is a Win 7 thing, plus the 1 gig memory might be a bit light these days. Disk space is generous, and the machine is very quiet. You will have to get rid of the normal bundled McCaffe and Norton stuff unless you want to purchase full versions; for protection I find free software such as Clamwin or Avast do the job.
And what happens if Windows 7 goes up the swanny? Well I'm damned of I'll buy another version of something I've already paid for. These days various Linux distros are mature enough to cover nearly everyone's need. My brief look at Android didn't impress me, certainly not on this machine, so I will give this one a miss for now.
