I bought this to replace an old 10.1" Advent Netbook that had grown old. It was no longer able to keep up with the programs I use it for on my degree, but I needed something I could take into uni comfortably. I also ordered a stick of 4GB DDR3 RAM, just because it seemed a good idea.

This netbook looks great. It's very light weight, the keyboard is a much better size than my previous and the slightly bigger screen is much better, not to mention the 1366x768 (if I remember correctly) resolution, great for connecting to my monitor. I was a bit dubious about a 1Ghz CPU, but this works pretty well. Windows EI put it at around 3, which is it's lowest score. Surprisingly, the graphics were around 6. Installation of MATLAB was much longer than my 3.3Ghz AMD CPU (obviously), but the program itself actually runs really well. The heat dissipation is also much better, this thing doesn't get particularly hot (yet), I've bought a small cooler to help with that anyway.

To anyone with realistic expectations (not someone who will moan that this thing doesn't support Crysis 2 on the highest settings...) I would definitely recommend this as a useful netbook for general college/uni work and/or internet browsing.

I searched AGES for a little netwbook, with enough storage, power and battery life for less than 300 pound. When I found this, I bought it immediately, as for the price, it is amazing!
The netbook is really light, tha bttery life seems to last forever! It actually looks better in real like as well, compared to the photos (I was put off by the ripple effect on the lid, but I need not have been!)
The keys are the same size as my big laptop (bought the little netbook for portable use, but I now use it at home as well!)
The switch on tme is fast. After I installed windows 7 and mozilla firefox etc. the netbook ran quite slow the first few times I switched it on, but it has now got quite fast, and the lag between that and my laptop is not nearly as noticeable! I can run multiple (internet and microsoft) windows at the same time. Bbciplayer also works.
It is essentially as really good little laptop, rather than a netbook!
I would not hesitate in recommending it to anyone, it is an amazing netbook for the price, and in general. I doubt you could find a better one for twice or even three times the price! :)
Happy netbook hunting!
(owned the netwbook for 5 weeks!)

I decided on the 722 over the Aspire One 522 as this comes with 64bit Windows 7 preloaded and has a larger and higher resolution screen - note that the screen resolution is NOT 1024x600 pixels as listed in the technical details, but a higher 1366x768 ! With netbook screens being so small, every extra pixel helps !

2gb of memory may be enough for basic use, but I increased mine to 4gb. The memory upgrade took a couple of minutes and access to the netbook's interior simply involves unplugging the battery and removing one screw to release the back plate. Details or videos showing how to do this can easily be found online. Performance is as expected ; it is not in the desktop league but fast enough for most purposes such as browsing, playing simple games, or watching iPlayer / ITV player etc.

I connected this netbook to my Sony Bravia telly via HDMI cable and it will display in full 1080p. Just press the "windows" key + "P" to select external projector mode, and adjust resolution as required in control panel.

Apparently there is a newer version of the 722 with faster processor (C-60) and upgraded graphics available from U.S. But for the modest performance increase the new chips offer I couldn't justify paying an extra hundred quid or more.

This is a superb netbook and great value for money at under two hundred and sixty quid.

Did some research before buying this netbook, It's not the best speced that's available but for the price it's brilliant for my needs. Plus points 1/ nice size screen very bright and clear. 2/ light in weight. 3/ good keyboard, although it does tend to flex in the middle ok for me as I am light handed but heavy handed people could damage it, the touchpad is realy sensative and easy to use. 4/ come with 2GB memory that is expandable to 4GB. 5/ Windows Home premium installed ,not starter as a lot of simular priced one's. reasonable ammount of ports, the HDMI is brilliant for iplayer etc. 6/ the battery life is as good as claimed. The only minus point for me was all the extra preloaded software junk (but suspect they all come with it!!)once this was removed it let's the machine work faster, so my suggestion for new purchaser's is to ditch any thing you will never use once you are up and running it's not difficult you can go to Microsoft website for help. All in all would recommend this to anyone who wants a straightforward netbook.

I have the 522 model with 10.1" screen and when this model came out I was bought one as a Birthday present.

I like this netbook/laptop so much I use it as my main laptop now. I upgraded the ram to 4Gb and the hard drive to 750GB which is very simple top do on this model. Undo 1 Philips headed screw on the the bottom and the whole panel slides off.

It comes with windows 7 64bit and is fast enough for browsing, office work, music and op

pohoto editing. I don't edit video's or play games but I would imagine anyone who does wouldn't buy a netbook. The screen is the big plus with this netbook being very crisp and clear and the graphics card takes care of HD video playback with ease. I have download many films and video's without any playback problems.

The keyboard is virtually full size and the track pad is large with a single large button. I find no heat or weight problems at all even using it for long periods on my lap.

It set up with no problems at all and picked up my wifi instantly. You have to spend the usual time removing all the unwanted programs and software that the manufacturer insists on loading to the hard drive, but apart from that this netbook is perfect for me !
