Good stuff! 23 Oct 2011
Style Name:320GB HDD, 7hrs, Black
I bought this to replace an old 10.1" Advent Netbook that had grown old. It was no longer able to keep up with the programs I use it for on my degree, but I needed something I could take into uni comfortably. I also ordered a stick of 4GB DDR3 RAM, just because it seemed a good idea.

This netbook looks great. It's very light weight, the keyboard is a much better size than my previous and the slightly bigger screen is much better, not to mention the 1366x768 (if I remember correctly) resolution, great for connecting to my monitor. I was a bit dubious about a 1Ghz CPU, but this works pretty well. Windows EI put it at around 3, which is it's lowest score. Surprisingly, the graphics were around 6. Installation of MATLAB was much longer than my 3.3Ghz AMD CPU (obviously), but the program itself actually runs really well. The heat dissipation is also much better, this thing doesn't get particularly hot (yet), I've bought a small cooler to help with that anyway.

To anyone with realistic expectations (not someone who will moan that this thing doesn't support Crysis 2 on the highest settings...) I would definitely recommend this as a useful netbook for general college/uni work and/or internet browsing.

Style Name:320GB HDD, 7hrs, Black
I searched AGES for a little netwbook, with enough storage, power and battery life for less than 300 pound. When I found this, I bought it immediately, as for the price, it is amazing!
The netbook is really light, tha bttery life seems to last forever! It actually looks better in real like as well, compared to the photos (I was put off by the ripple effect on the lid, but I need not have been!)
The keys are the same size as my big laptop (bought the little netbook for portable use, but I now use it at home as well!)
The switch on tme is fast. After I installed windows 7 and mozilla firefox etc. the netbook ran quite slow the first few times I switched it on, but it has now got quite fast, and the lag between that and my laptop is not nearly as noticeable! I can run multiple (internet and microsoft) windows at the same time. Bbciplayer also works.
It is essentially as really good little laptop, rather than a netbook!
I would not hesitate in recommending it to anyone, it is an amazing netbook for the price, and in general. I doubt you could find a better one for twice or even three times the price! :)
Happy netbook hunting!
(owned the netwbook for 5 weeks!)

Acer Aspire One 722 1 Dec 2011
Style Name:320GB HDD, 7hrs, Black|Amazon Verified Purchase
I decided on the 722 over the Aspire One 522 as this comes with 64bit Windows 7 preloaded and has a larger and higher resolution screen - note that the screen resolution is NOT 1024x600 pixels as listed in the technical details, but a higher 1366x768 ! With netbook screens being so small, every extra pixel helps !

2gb of memory may be enough for basic use, but I increased mine to 4gb. The memory upgrade took a couple of minutes and access to the netbook's interior simply involves unplugging the battery and removing one screw to release the back plate. Details or videos showing how to do this can easily be found online. Performance is as expected ; it is not in the desktop league but fast enough for most purposes such as browsing, playing simple games, or watching iPlayer / ITV player etc.

I connected this netbook to my Sony Bravia telly via HDMI cable and it will display in full 1080p. Just press the "windows" key + "P" to select external projector mode, and adjust resolution as required in control panel.

Apparently there is a newer version of the 722 with faster processor (C-60) and upgraded graphics available from U.S. But for the modest performance increase the new chips offer I couldn't justify paying an extra hundred quid or more.

This is a superb netbook and great value for money at under two hundred and sixty quid.

Birthday present
Bought this Netbook for my wife's birthday and she loves it. Not as fast as my Acer Aspire 1810TZ but she says it's adequate for her needs. Great colour too.

Very pleased with this Netbook. The screen is very clear and the keyboard nice to use. They are perhaps a little optimistic regarding the battery life but this is not a problem. Read more
