Acer Aspire One Happy 10.1 inch Netbook (Intel Atom Dual-Core N550 Processor, 1GB RAM, 250GB HDD, Wifi, Webcam, 8hrs battery life, Windows 7 Starter&Android) - Candy Pink

Lightweight and striking looks make this a nice starter Netbook for Kids wanting something to keep them busy in the car for long journeys, basic web browsing, music and movies.

I'm not convinced at all by the claimed 8hrs battery life. I;d rate it something more like 2.5 hours if the Netbook is doing anything work wise.

Windows 7 starter always sounds nice, but it has some stunning limitations such as not being able to change your own desktop image, or alter the colour of the Basic Windows 7 Coulour scheme.

The LCD Screen though sharp has a visible "grey grid" effect ever present.

Apart from these gripes it appears to do everything you'd expect at this size and pricepoint.

We bought this item as a christmas present for our 12yr old daughter and she absolutly loves it. So do we!! The specs are great and the colour of the lid is a fab bright pink. It is easy to set up and use as well as connect to the internet within minutes. Great value for money too.

Slow and Painful 5 Feb 2012

I bought this for my 9 year old daughter as she uses it for Youtube and other music type items off the internet. I was totally let donw by the painfully slow speed. I've a fear this will become one of the presents that will gather dust on the shelf and to be honest I'd understand why. You are totally restriced in what you can do with the software, if I was you I would avoid it.
