I bought this to use in my office with an Acer Revo 3610 as it has HDMI as well as DVI & VGA. Perfect pairing. Absolutely love it. Good, bright, sharp picture and a great size.

USBs are tucked away underneath rather than on the side, but that's OK. Speakers are adequate if a bit tinny - fine for system sounds, radio/youtube etc... but don't expect amazing quality.

No height adjustment, but it does tilt - at this size, who needs to adjust the height?

I haven't used the webcam as yet, but it installed OK, so I guess it'll work. If not, I'll amend my review.

    Verified Purchase
I bought this a month ago (June 2011). It performs mostly very well, faultlessly, as a screen and it is good looking and sophisticated on the desk in shiny black. The twist and pivot functions are excellent to get the exact viewing angle I want. There are some internal speakers but these, as I read in one other review prior to purchasing, are quiet. Usable with the volume turned up full (push button setting on the front of the screen not explained in the documentation). The screen has inbuilt microphone and webcam but I reverted to using my external Logitech webcam after some experimentation. I performed a test using Skype's callback test and the clarity of the recorded sound using the built in microphone was audible but muffled whereas my old Logitech £15 webcam/microphone gave absolutely clear sound play back. The inbuilt webcam I found to be very good but since I need the Logitech microphone I tend to use the Logitech webcam as well. The screen also has a place to plug in 2 USB devices which I thought might be useful but in practice I find it easier to access the USB sockets on the front and back of my computer. I bought the screen because I was attracted by the internal microphone, webcam and speakers and extra USB sockets - and partly because at around £170 it was a good price with many 24 inch screens in the £200+ range that did not have the extra equipment anyway. Given that the speakers and microphone are not up to par I would probably not buy this unit again if I didn't already have it. However as a screen it is excellent and even just as a screen it still represented at time of purchase fair value for money so I am satisfied but not wow'ed.

What sold me on this displayAcer H243HX 24-inch Wide LCD, TFT Monitor, 80'000:1, 2ms, 300/m2, VGA, HDMI, with Speakers, Intergrated Webcam, Gloss Black, besides the size of its screen and the clarity, was the inbuilt webcam and USB hub. Oh and the price.

I bought it to replace a Dell 19" display that I bought with my desktop system.

The display is a doddle to install and the only thing I needed to do was create a new wallpaper image to suit the 1680 x 1050 resolution I selected. There's a CD with the package to add the webcam and some other software.

Overall it is a good display for the money. The webcam is brilliant, especially at 1280 x 800 resolution or HD 720. The speakers are so quiet I can scarcely hear things so I'll stick to my existing speaker system when I want music.

The display is good, but lacks some consistent crispness with text at a small size. My main use is in imaging, so this is not a major problem, but the Dell was crisper.

The large display is very nice and clear,
    and the colours are great,
but the webcam will not work on Windows 7 (64-bit)
It is a "Crystal-Eye" webcam, supported for XP and Vista only at the time of writing this review.
