Manufacturer's Description

The 16 inch Aspire 6920G beams with notebook cinema excellence, enhancing high-def digital life with truly immersive audio and captivating video. Headlined by the Aspire CineReal Sensation - a suite of superior show-time advancements - HD entertainment has never looked, sounded or felt so good. On the holographic 3D cover a soft glow shines below the floating Acer logo. The enlightener power button flashes to life with a sharp looking line of bright blue neon light when the notebook is turned on. The wide-aspect HD CineCrystal LCD with 16:9 aspect ratio has 14 % more screen space than 15.4 inch, 16:10 displays - empowering users with full native widescreen resolution. This is the perfect cinematic aspect ratio for viewing HD content and the latest movies just like the original. WCG (Wide Colour Gamut) presents 33% more colour range intensity than today's typical notebook panels, making games and movies much more attractive. Plus, the vivid colour display allows more gradation in darker scenes. An 8 ms high-def response time diminishes ghosting in fast motion gaming and smoothly delivers all the lighting-quick action scenes from the latest blockbuster movies. A variety of superior Dolby technologies make the most of high-def acoustic sources, with True5.1 surround sound. Acer CineSurround blasts virtual 5.1 surround sound through two speakers and the built-in Acer Tuba CineBass booster, and supports True5.1 Surround sound output, so the user can get fully immersed in an intense sound experience with or without external speakers. A large subwoofer capacity exceeds 10 W, blasting the clearest low tones imaginable via Dolby Natural Bass technology. Touch-sensitive Acer MediaTouch keys give users finger-quick access and management of media content. Easy-launch buttons allow one-touch access to frequently used functions like WLAN, Internet, Bluetooth and Acer Arcade.

5.0 out of 5 stars Acer Aspire, 16 Aug 2009
This review is from: Acer Aspire 6920G 16 inch Laptop, Intel Core 2 Duo T5900 2.2 GHz, 3 GB RAM, 250 GB HDD, DVDSM, Vista Home Premium (Electronics)
My Opinions- I bought this Laptop about 7-8 months ago and have had absolutly no regrets. Although this fact alone might suggest you should buy a more reccent model. The specifications speak for themselves. Fast, plenty of space it ticks all the boxes (If you don't understand the specifications- they are above average and unless you are downloading loads of content you will be fine). I have had no problems with it so far. The fingerprint reader is actually more useful than it seems.. it allows you to access your E-mail account or Facebook profile with one swipe... no need to type in your E-mail or password. This was very easy to set-up. Only problem is that it has stopped working once I installed Internet Explorer 8, I have not tried to correct this though so i might be able to do something about it. (have not tried running it with firefox but i don't see why it wouldn't work). For the price this really is an amazing laptop... it looks amazing (this doesn't really matter to me) Has a touch-sensitive panel... again looks good but I only really use it for volume control.

Gaming- I don't really play many games on my P.C. but the NVIDIA graphics card is up to the task as is the prossesing speed. I can Play Call of Duty 4 (a pretty demanding game) with very little lagging.

Sound- Good quality... would like it to go louder.

Battery- This is the only noticable problem- in my opinion. The battery life is about 2 hours... this is less of a problem in England as a lot of trains have powerpoints. Also you can change the settings quite easily to extend this... not sure by how much though...

Extras- There is a Bicycle Lock attatchment area (if that is what you would call it) so you can physically protect your computer. There is a slot for SD cards which is sooooo useful for uploading photos (although the programme they provide for up-loading photos is really unhelpful and confusing in my opinion, this can be replaced however.) There is an HDMI input which lets you connect to the T.V. in HD. Plenty of USB input too.

I think that's all. Well worth buying.

3.0 out of 5 stars Pros & Cons, 30 Oct 2009
This review is from: Acer Aspire 6920G 16 inch Laptop, Intel Core 2 Duo T5900 2.2 GHz, 3 GB RAM, 250 GB HDD, DVDSM, Vista Home Premium (Electronics)
This is cool looking machine! I'm enjoying watching movies on it, which is probably the most impressive thing about it. I'm a bit annoyed at the media control panel though, which tends to work sometimes and sometimes not. The keys are noisy when typing. I'm placing lots of hope in Windows 7, as I expect that some of my other little frustrations with this machine are Vista related.

This review is from: Acer Aspire 6920G 16 inch Laptop, Intel Core 2 Duo T5900 2.2 GHz, 3 GB RAM, 250 GB HDD, DVDSM, Vista Home Premium (Electronics)
Bought this Acer Laptop 6920g, fast delivery. Set up went without a hitch, it then downloaded a lot of windows updates. Made the recovery discs as reccomened, a good job because machine locked up when downloading updates for Acer Arcade Deluxe and bluetooth. Had to use recovery discs but all went well. All software updates now download with out problem. Graphics very good. Using machine for video editing no problems.
