Great 23" Monitor for Gamers on a Budget, 3 Mar 2009
Before I ordered this monitor I'd been watching it on Amazon for a few weeks, somewhat concerned at the "too good to be true" price point, despite the fantastic specs (Full 1080p HD, 16:9 Aspect Ratio, 40,000:1 Dynamic Contrast, 5ms Response Time etc). After reading a number of highly positive user reviews elsewhere I decided to go for it. I am so glad I did.
Opening the box I was blown away by how large the 23" 16:9 screen is, compared to my previous 19" 16:10 monitor. Upon switching it on I was pleased to discover not a single dead/stuck pixel. There is very slight backlight bleeding around the edges, but this is not noticeable at all in normal lighting conditions. I initially found the buttons at the base of the screen difficult to use, until I realised that they are designed to be pressed up, not straight back. The On-Screen Display is a little confusingly designed, hiding most of the real options behind "User" presets, but this is certainly not a deal breaker! By default, the Automatic Contrast Management (ACM) system is set to Off. When it is on, it gives you the full 40,000:1 contrast ratio advertised. However, I recommend you set the brightness to 0 if you are going to be using ACM, as the screen will be painfully bright with a higher setting.
The primary use this monitor will see is as a display for my Xbox 360, and it serves the job perfectly. There is no discernible Input Lag, and the 5ms response time keeps the image clear when in motion, with no ghosting at all. Colours are rich and vibrant, and coupled with the high contrast ratio makes games practically leap off the screen. Also, as I only use VGA, the lack of other inputs such as HDMI is a non-issue for me personally.
Don't be discouraged by the budget price point, this monitor is a real beauty, albeit a very vanilla beauty, and will undoubtedly satisfy every serious gamer on a budget. You really cannot go wrong at less than £130 for a 23", Full HD monitor.

Fantastic low budget monitor, 24 Mar 2009
Recieved my monitor today after seeing the mixed reviews i was a little unsure of what it would turn out to be like,i can say i am very impressed, one of the first things i did was find a 1080 hd background and i have to say i was blown away,i then loaded a game up and again was amazed at the quality, its a pretty impressive size to and a very nice piece of kit,the only downside is that the stand is a bit tacky and the monitor wobbles a bit,but for this price i am extremely happy with my purchase

Good monitor, shame about the buzz, 15 Mar 2009
After only owning this monitor for two days, it has been booked for collection due to a buzzing noise, which is a shame because what limited experience I have of the monitor leads me to believe I would like using it.
This monitor was bought to replace two 4:3 19" monitors that were taking up to much desk space. While it does obviously loose me screen space, 1920x1080 versus the dual screen size of 2560x1024, I was comfortably able to have my usual selection of windows open with only a little overlaping.
One of the first things I did was to turn down the brightness, but other than that I have been very pleased using it. Worked straight out of the box, even with Windows 7!
After I have read about on the internet to make sure that I have just been unlucky and that the buzzing is not a common occurence with this monitor, I expect I will purchase another to replace the faulty one.
