This inevitable sequel finds Jim Carrey reprising his role as the world's greatest pet detective. His latest case, the disappearance of a rare African white bat, draws him out of his spiritual retreat at a Tibetan monastery following the tragic outcome of his previous case. That traumatic experience, which makes for a hilarious opening-scene send-up of the Stallone thriller Cliffhanger, prompts Ace to venture to Africa, where he goes native with the tribe that hired him to find their symbolic bat. From that point anything goes, with Carrey pushing the boundaries of good taste (what, you were expecting good taste?) up to and including his now-infamous "birth" scene from the backside of a mechanical rhinoceros. Format:VHS Tape
This video is a must for all Jim Carrey fans-it is full of classic Carrey cliches (of which I have learnt them all) and it is absolutely hilarious. I think that these 2 films-When nature calls and Pet Detective-are the best films Jim Carrey has done and I could watch them over and over again and not get bored. Amazingly witty and at a great price too, buy it!

Just a quick review to warn buyers that 'Ace Ventura - When Nature Calls' is cut by one minute thirty eight seconds to achieve a PG rating (As are all versions available in the UK). Several of the edgier/cruder jokes have been either reduced or removed.
If that doesn't bother you then buy this boxset without hesitation, but if you want the films completely uncut then buy the region 1 DVDs from America.

The Ace Ventura films are SO funny, and it's DEFINATLY worth having. But -WARNING- there is something you sould know. Ace Ventura 2 (when nature calls {which I think is funnier}) is played in the UK version and in that version they cut out some of the best jokes. To fully enjoy this you must get no.2 from the USA. But if you are a parent with young kids, get this one...

ace ventura dvd
excellent product, arrived very quickly and in good condition. Film was better than I even remembered it, in particular the "When Nature Calls" dvd which the children loved.
