I bought it for my aged mother and an aged relative. The display is very easy to read from a distance even though there's no back light. The days of the week are a little difficult to read as their only two letters an derived from a simple alphanumeric display. There's a stand so it can be sat on a table or two holes so it can be wall mounted. It uses three AA batteries (which are supplied with the clock. The batteries are already inserted, just remove a paper tab, wait a few minutes and the clock will set itself! No further setting required. Deals with British Summer Time, leap years etc. It's not exactly elegant but very useful even for those people who do remember the time, day and date!
Also includes a digital temperature gauge and shows the moons phase!
And it's cheaper here than anywhere else, or was when I bought it.

This new version has a slightly bigger display than before, has a ambient light sensor that turns on the back-light dimly at night, has a daily alarm with snooze & uses 3 AA batteries instead of 2.
Like the previous model, it shows the Date, day & month, moon phases & temperature in either C or F. The time display is large & clear & gets synch'd several times a day - more often than many RC clocks.
The clock has an on-demand back-light that's far brighter than the ambient one, has a hinge out foot for shelf mounting but has one howling design flaw - when hung from a wall mounted hook, the clock tilts about 15 degrees. Otherwise great & not sound during normal operation so great for bedrooms. The time format can be set to either 12 or 24.

This isn't a fancy ornament, but it is a nice, large, clear clock. The radio control saves you from any effort in setting it, and although not elegant, it is smart enough. I have hung it on the wall, and didn't seem to suffer from any problems (as described by another reviewer).

Does what it says on the "tin"
Installed batteries (not included) and left it on a shelf for about a day. Did nothing else and it's now showing accurate and correct time, date etc. And I MEAN accurate. Read more

Unreliable
As an existing review has highlighted, I have found that on occasions it collects the wrong time. Usually the minutes are correct but the hours vary from 1 to 4 hours wrong. Read more

DCF (Germany) or MSF (UK) information label
