Easy to set up, easy to use. I bought this for an aunt, she found it difficult to read the "On" and "Off" printing either end of the silver button on the side, this is because the lettering is embossed in the white colour of the item, however this would be nit-picking because most customers would not be fazed at all by this. You can always write a big black ON and OFF with a permanent pen if it is a problem.
You put in the battery, leave it to set its own time, and from that point onward you need only to think of rotating the little black control on the back to set the alarm hand to the position you desire, and to put the alarm-sound button on the side into the on or off position as appropriate.
Pushing the plastic rocker-bar on the top will light up the face briefly at night for a quick look at the time, and will also double as a snooze button if you're the sort who can't get straight out of bed first time around!
This is an analogue clock, whereas most others now on the market are digital radio-controlled alarms without hands and instead feature a digital readout: the set of fiddly little control buttons on those models totally defeat a lot of older people, so they prefer a traditional anaolgue face - as with this one - with simple larger controls.
It does feel lightweight so I've no idea how it would stand up to hard knocks, however in a market which has limited choice, this is a good one.
I felt the price, approaching £20, was a bit steep but given the lack of competition, you're stuck with it.
