The Radio Controlled mechanism fitted to your clock has a built in receiver, which is tuned to the National Physical Laboratory MSF Transmitter based in Anthorn, Cumbria. The time signal received is controlled by a cesium clock, is accurate to within one second every 1000 years, allows fully automatic set up of your clock and will automatically adjust for summer/winter time changes. Amazon Verified Purchase
The clock functions correctly, very quickly setting itself to the correct time once the battery tag was removed. The hours and minutes are displayed in large 65mm or 2.5 inch characters which can be seen across the room in daylight. Seconds and the day/date use smaller characters but still readily seen. This clock also displays the phases of the moon and the room temperature and includes an alarm function, but the alarm is not practical, the unit only being suitable for wall mounting.

Just to clarify the colour of the clock for anyone thinking the picture shows the clock with a white surround yet the text says it is a black clock - it's not actually either white or black !
The frame immediately around the LCD is plastic that has been painted a silver colour, whilst the outer frame that looks white in the picture is actually transparent perspex - it just looks white in the photo because of the lighting/camera angle.
As a clock it does what it claims. I live a long way from Anthorn, where the MSF signal is transmitted from and the clock synch'd very quickly when I put the batteries in so full marks there.
The LCD display is a bit patchy with some of the segments having markedly different levels of contrast but for £20 it's quite acceptable.
Overall, it's good value for money.

Excellent product
Apart from having to set the time manually the product works a treat. The figures are displayed very clearly and can be seen from a fair distance away. Excellent all round

Big but not galatctical...
The display is big but in the end the total size is like others. Really nice looking. Plastic quality not very good...But it works well!
