I am a clock collector and this one caught my eye in a jewelers shop a couple of years ago and thought, interesting! that one was sold and never reappeared, then seaching through Amazon's clock section looking for a Christmas present for a family friend there it was, I read the review that was there already and they seemed to like the clock so I bought it as my own Christmas gift, it is made with a heavy metal case which supports the mechanism effortlessly, when you open the box all the parts are in expanded polystyrene packing and secured in plastic bags, the clock, pendulumn, weight have the look of an older device that gives an impression 19th century manufacture, setting up is a simple affair, beware however that clocks of this nature need to be balanced 90o to the wall and the pendulumn must swing in the narrow margin set for it, otherwise it will stop. Other than that it needs no adjustment whilst running as this appears to be set at the factory and the bell chime on the hour is pleasant to the ear.
Overall a precise clock and well built without frills just gloss black and brass.
