I have been looking for a silent clock for ages. I read both the reviews written by buyers for this clock and, of course, the item description and I decided to fall on to the positive-reviews side as they seemed to form the majority. I got the clock based on these information and, unfortunately, the clock turned up to be non-ticking but grounding! It makes a horrible grounding noise. I covered the back of the clock by some cotton wool and tape to insulate the noisy part but it did not help! The reason which I gave it two stars, rather than one, is that the clock itself is really good size, especially for short-sighted people like me, and nicely designed. To conclude, if you live in a silent area and are looking for a complete silent clock this would not be the ideal choice. I returned the clock and it is refunded, great service from amazon though.

The order was delivered quickly. Great service! Unfortunately, the clock is making more noises than expected. It's like an annoying fly in your bedroom.

A great buy and worth every penny. I needed a silent clock to go in my bedroom as I can't abide hearing the ticking sound whilst trying to get to sleep. Mine doesnt make a sound and because it quite large and i'm short sighted, I can even read it without having to put my glasses on.

Do not buy if you want a silent bedroom clock
I bought this thinking it would be silent, but it is not, it makes an irritating grinding noise as stated below. Could not put up with it in the bedroom.

Deceptive product decription
This clock is not silent. Although quite quiet there is an audible whirring noise and a rapid ticking noise. These sound louder when it is place on a wall.
