Absinthe is a strong, herb-infused, alcoholic beverage that was extremely popular with artists and authors in the late 19th and early 20th centuries. Due to its green color and purported hallucinogenic qualities, it is often referred to as "The Green Fairy." These Absinthe Mints are anise flavored (the predominant flavor of absinthe) and come in a cool art nouveau tin complete with flying green devil fairies! Each 2-1/4" (5.7 cm) round tin contains about one hundred mints.

Buy them for the tin

I bought these mints some time ago, and while the "mint" itself has no real anise flavour (they are quite bland actually), I really bought them for the tin, which is beautiful. If you want actual absinthe flavoured mints, these will disappoint, but if you are like me and wanted the lovely tin for later use, then it's worth the purchase price.

I love these mints. I ate the whole tin in like 3 days. I wish they were sugar free, but alas, like Absinthe, I will do whatever it takes to get my 'fix' - sugar or not. The tin is nice and can be used for other things after.............

Very faint anise flavor, this is an unremarkable candy. It is my impression that all the flavor is in the powder that lightly coats the mints.
