Book Description

In this romantic romp through the Greek Isles, Carol Grace pens the delightful story of maid of honor and groom-to-be hot on the trail of a runaway bride...and quite possibly falling in love!

Jane Atwood has loved Alex Woods for years. His upcoming wedding to her best friend -- the Greek- American beauty Sofia Leonakis -- doesn't make it any easier. Nor does the Greek island setting (is there a more romantic place on earth?) or her status as maid of honor. But when Sofia and Alex have a huge fight five nights before the wedding, Sofia runs off with a mystery man and all bets are off.

Thrown together in search of the errant bride, Jane and Alex go island-hopping. Jane tries hard to keep the "honor" in maid of honor, but her attraction to Alex deepens like a Mediterranean tan. Soon, Alex sees that she's not the plain Jane he thought she was -- and that she may be his one true love. Only on the wedding day will Jane discover whether Alex is ready to say "I do" -- and to whom!

A Bon Voyage romance!

4.0 out of 5 stars warm contemporary Aegean Sea romance 29 April 2004
By Harriet Klausner - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Mass Market Paperback
CPA Jane Atwood has loved Alex Woods since they first met as lab partners at college about ten years ago. However, Alex fell in love her roommate Sofia Leonakis. Now Alex and Sofia are marrying on the Greek isle of Mios near where her wealthy family lives. However, Alex and Sofia get into a fight over his desire to quit her father's company.

The next day, Alex and Jane learn that Sofia has run off apparently with a local fisherman. They follow the only clue, a matchbook from Cavo d'Oro on the isle Andros. As they search a nude beach and remain in close proximity, Alex falls in love with Jane. Now he needs to gracefully end his relationship with Sofia and persuade Jane that she is not plain to him.

This Aegean Sea romance is a fun tale starring a delightful lead pair, who does not realize that they are an ideal couple. The story line is character driven from the manipulative theatrics of Sofia to Jane's clumsiness when her beloved is near to Alex realizing who turns him on while strolling on a nudist beach (wonder why he was brain dead before that naked walk). With a vast Greek family to round out the nuptials, fans will appreciate this warm contemporary tale.

3.0 out of 5 stars A Fun Summer Romance! 24 Jun 2004
By Kristi Ahlers - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Mass Market Paperback
This was a fun easy read, set in a great location with a fun storyline. You really can't go wrong with picking up this title. As another reader stated if you love "My Big Fat Greek Wedding" the you will find this book just as funny.

Jane Atwood has been in love with her best friends fiance since college. She introduced Alex to Sophia Leonakis and it was love at first sight. Now Jane is on her way to the Greek island Mios, she seasick and not looking forward to being the maid of honor. The last person she expects to see at that moment is Alex himself. What's the first thing she does when she sees the love of her life? She throws up on his wedding shoes of course! You would think that this would be an oman of things to come and you would be right...sort of!

Alex has not seen his good friend Jane is a very long while. She has always been a good friend and good listener and he has some things that he's trying to work through. The last thing he expects his friend Jane to do is get sick on his feet but lifes not perfect.

Once they reach the home of Sophia's parents everything goes wrong. Jane Sophia and Alex have a fight and runs off in the middle of the night. Alex and Jane set out to find the missing bride but instead find a growing attraction that neither can ignore. It's not long before Alex sees Jane as a very attractive person instead of his college friend turned CPA, who has the reputation of being able to fix anything. Jane can't believe her luck. She is falling in love with Alex all over again and this time he seems to suffering from the same problem. What will happen between them when the find Sophia?

The was a warm and fun book. The chemistry between Jane and Alex is great and the situations that they find themselves in are both romantic and funny. This was a fun book to read since the location is so exotic. This is a great at the beach book and one that I recommend it to anyone that likes light hearted reads!

3.0 out of 5 stars Fast Paced Romance; Easy Read 26 July 2012

My Thoughts:

Jane Atwood's dilemma is that age old tale. Shy, nerdy girl is secretly in love with hunky best friend - who happens to think he's in love with beautiful goddess. Nerdy girl lives in the shadows of goddess friend, but blossoms when romantic atmosphere and out-of-the-norm circumstances thrust her into a whirlwind tour of the Greek Isles. Perfectly delicious plot. I've always had a dab of nerd dancing beneath the surface - so I adore this particular storyline a great deal.

Grace's book is fair, simple and straight forward. This book will most appeal to those seeking a relatively fast paced storyline with a romance at its core. Read it for a night's fun escape with beautiful Greece as the backdrop. Take a pass on An Accidental Greek Wedding if you're looking for an involved romance that digs deep into character development and relationship.
