Product Description

Product Description

This volume and its accompanying "Solutions Manual", should enable students to achieve success in A Level physics. It covers the compulsory cores of all the major syllabuses, including the Northern Board's extensive Nuclear unit. The text is supported by clear line diagrams to explain complex concepts. Attention is focused on essential principles, the authors aiming to provide students with an everyday course companion, yet offering the relevant background detail and applications. Explanations are full, and the book should be suitable for guided self-study. Guided examples lead progressively through the major syllabuses for 1996 and beyond. Self-assessments monitor progress, with a choice of "qualitative" and "quantitative" questions and a set of solutions available to teachers. Extra help is provided with mathematical concepts wherever necessary to produce a book which will benefit students of all levels of ability.

I am an A' Level Physics student form Jeddah Saudi Arabia, and i must say that Accessible Physics is a 5 star book when it comes to understanding physics. This book describes each and every topic and great destail, and the diagram and other illustations make it very easy to be understood by students doing Physic for A' Levels. The other good thing about it is that it also explains clearly how each and every single formula is derived from other formulae in the math windows on almost every 2-3 pages. For practice, it has very good questions at hte end of each chapter, and even the hardest of all question can be done very easily as it also has similar question which give you guidelines on how to solve them, specially when it come to numerical problems. All the other students, along with te teacher in my class agree that this book is the best when it comes to understanding physics, and a few schools teaching A' Levels have also started to use this book as part of the A' Level course. I will recommend this book to everyone doing A' Levels physics, and I think that the authors have done a great job writting this book.

I used this text book a couple of years ago and found it was written in such a way that was simple to understand and yet contained all the relevant information to the required level. The format is well suited to revision with important information and formula being highlighted clearly. The example questions are well thought out and answers are provided so you can check you're on the right track.

I use the book when I teach Physics in English
in a Swedish school.
The book is clear, covers the important theories
(but is maybe a bit boring)
What I react on most of all is the way the answers to the exercises are given!
In ascending order and without units...!!!
What is the risk with giving complete answers?
I think the sudents should have them! They have to know how to solve the problem. They can't just copy the answer.
